if LSU had the same head coach for 50 years

And this is probably why it’s hard to equate the situation to any other school. Hell, at LSU we run natty winning coaches out of town.

Penn State was losing some of its luster in the late 80s/early 90s so what did he do? Bring in some of the thug and criminal element he turned his nose up about other schools. That 94 team was not a bunch of studious straight arrows

I mean, Nebraska did the same exact thing

I always kinda rooted for PSU. I like the colors and uniforms and the name Penn State. Always a good team but rarely elite. The pedo stuff is long in the last by people who aren’t there anymore so I don’t worry about that.

Why are you cool with priests molesting kids? You clearly can’t read or have a predetermined agenda if you think I’m some how defending Paterno. I believe in punishing the guilty, child molesters should be punished severely. I do not believe in punishing innocent people or destroying institutions in a fit of self righteous anger. I’m not “whatabouting” and just to be clear so you understand if you think Penn State football program should have been destroyed over Sandusky’s actions then you are a self righteous hypocrite if you don’t also think the Catholic church should destroyed.

Not at all.

Should have been given the death penalty, but they were given preferential treatment. Frick Pedo State.

University President Graham Spanier got 58 days.

Gary Shultz in charge of campus police, who both Paterno and McQueary went to his home and reported the abuse, got 6 months.

I respected them before we found out they were pedo. Now I hope their school and stadium burn in a massive fire.

Seems like B1G country and the NE are just a giant pedo conglomerate. I can’t hear 7 nation army chants without hearing “we are pedo”.

It also doesn’t help that year after year they are vastly overrated.

Problem is the NCAA gave Pedo State a slap on the wrist for covering up child rape within their program, while SMU got the death penalty for slipping money to players just like Auburn did for Bo Jackson and Texas and OU were doing for their studs.

So because of that, forever frick Pedo State.

bullshite. How many times was it reported to the police over a 20 year period? Have you ever met a small town cop? They gossip more than fricking hairdressers. The whole fricking town knew. Happy Valley should have been razed and salt sown into the ashes.

At one time in my life I actually interviewed with one of Sandusky's adopted sons, EJ. He was the head football coach at Albright University, a D3 school in PA. This was in '05, so a few years before all the news broke. I knew he played at Penn State and who his dad was, and at one point I say something to the affect of, must of been neat your dad being a coaching legend and all that kind of stuff. He just said yep, and that was it. Obviously with what came out a few years later, I understand his simple response. He clearly did not want to talk about it. I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that many people knew exactly what was going on for many years.

Meh when you sacrifice the safety of kids to not interrupt your football program, you deserve way more than what they got.

The people involved in covering it up or turning a blind eye to it being gone is kind of irrelevant
