On one hand I want McDavid to get him a chip but on the other hand I really want the US over Canada streak to continue. Hard to believe it's been since 93 since a Canadian team won.

I know that's old news but I just started following hockey more this year and that stat is just kind of hard to believe.

Good goal

So question... I was watching last night and the first Florida goal where the guy fell in the crease was challenged and upheld... why don't they do what the NFL does and review all scoring plays automatically? Then Edmonton got a penalty because the challenge failed and Florida scored again. I'm glad they came back and won after that bullshite

NFL only automatically reviews whether there is a score or not. Not if a penalty assisted in allowing for the score (i.e., holding, pick play, OPI).

There is no doubt the goal was scored.

No because it can be disallowed due to goalie interference. I figured that's what they were reviewing

Sitting in the penalty box after the delay of game and watching the Panthers score in OT has to be one of the shittiest feelings ever.

I'm confused.

It is what they were reviewing, via coaches' challenge. Call on the ise was that it was a good goal and there was no goalie interference.

It would be the equivalent of an NFL referee considering calling OPI on Justin Jefferson, but deciding not to and awarding a TD.

If NHL rules applied, a coach could challenge the noncall of OPI and the booth would take a second look.

In each instance, the challenge would have to come from the coach.

FYI, in CFL they could make that challenge.

I like the rule that awards a power play for an unsuccessful challenge. They give the coaches a fair amount of time to review it before deciding. The worst rule in hockey is when they challenge a goal for offside on plays where the offside had absolutely nothing to do with the goal. They need to tweak that rule. There are instances where play goes on for 20-30 seconds after the offside, the puck gets passed around 10 times, pinned against the boards, everything. And after the goal, the coach can still challenge the goal for offsides.

Stars fired DeBoer. Maybe I’m missing something. I don’t follow Dallas that closely, but this is somewhat confusing to me.

What is your reaction, Stars fans?

has to be how he handled the last game and benched our star goalie and kind of treated him like shite when none of it was his fault

Yeah it’s pretty crazy seemingly to fire him after 3 straight WCFs

…but I get since he has the reputation of not getting over the hump and the goalie situation was bad

Wouldn’t be surprised if they were bringing him back regardless and the goalie pulling plus the postgame presser did it. That was such a bad look.

They did not close the season well.

#96 saved them in both rounds.

They looked awfully disjointed after the return of #s 4 and 21.

Had no answer to Edmonton - none, zero, zip.

Assume Nil and company see him as the perineal bridesmaid

Why the hell is this on off-brand tv.

You want to expand the sport? You want to gain viewers?

Put it where the avg. Joe can watch it. gdammit. We don't have cable anymore.

NHL is great. Put it over the air on ABC instead of survivor or whatever BS they have
