I saw that two teams played for third place today.

Can anyone imagine the two semi-final losers of the College Football Playoffs squaring off to play for third?

No but I could easily imagine the final 4 losers playing a 3rd place game.

It’s boring. They never score. It’s like New Year’s Eve when the clock strikes 12 when someone scores.

There are too many ties. No sporting event should end in a tie. If it’s a tie, then why was the game played?

The field is too long to not have any scoring.

Just touch the ball with your goddamned hands.

Did I mention no one ever scores?

Great idea. I bet no other sport does that.

NFL teams average between 14 and 28 points per game. If each touchdown was counted as one point instead of 6 plus the extra point, the score of NFL games would resemble soccer scores. Instead of game being 28 to 14, it would be 4 to 2

You forgetting that field goals exist?

Oh yeah, I totally forgot. That completely changes the point.

An average game is roughly 2.5 - 3 goals. So yes they score. Maybe not enough for you, but you don't need to make things up.

It does change your incredibly bad point you were trying to make. Most games have field goals scored in them, which makes more scoring opportunities.

just decide to become emotionally invested in a team based on another continent playing in a city youve never spent a single second in. Then youll get it

What about people here in the United States that are invested in teams like the Yankees, Lakers, Cowboys, etc and doesn’t live in that city, State, or never been to a game?

What are people in Iowa to do? Just not pick a team since they don’t live in a city or state with any professional sports teams?

There was a time I didn’t give a damn about soccer. Lived in Europe for a couple of years though and learned more about the game and its nuances. I like it just like any other American sport now.

We as a country have incredibly short attention spans and it shows in why we as a nation haven't hooked into soccer yet.

Oooh, an average game is 2-1. Wow. That will really make me want to watch

I’m glad you felt the need to apply my point literally. The fact you felt the need to do that proves my point. If your average game is 2.5-3 goals, then there not enough scoring.
