I think hazing is a good tradition, but this isn’t hazing. Hazing is shaving freshman’s heads and stuff.

Who was old timer LSU football player who said, when they came to his room to shave his whole body, go ahead and do what you need to do but I’m gonna remember everyone in this room….they never touched him.

I mean not saying this isn’t true, but weird how this is just now coming out with how social media is today and kids recording everything. Just weird.

Pretty sure. I doubt there was a long line of dudes waiting to frick around with freshman Maason Smith. Maybe that’s why this stuff happens at Northwestern and not LSU or Bama or Georgia or whoever.

This could affect Northwestern and their 2,000 fans.

This player loosely connects Fitzgerald to the hazing. If some others corroborate that account then there’s no way he survives, especially after going 2-16 in conference over the past two seasons.

These traditions were started by closet homosexuals and continued by them.

Weird asses.

Same as the dudes on here who are always talking about men giving oral sex, raping other men and other shite. Weird arse mofos

The University retained a law firm to do an independent investigation and none of this was included in their report.

Either this article is BS or the University covered it up.

The player believes some players interpreted Fitzgerald making these signals as knowingly “encouraging” the hazing to continue.

“Everyone would just be looking at each other and be like ‘bro, Fitz knows about this,’ because you wouldn’t take that action otherwise,” the player said. “Everyone joins in, because he’s the head coach.”

Yep, definitely needs corroboration. Without it, Fitz has plausible deniability.

According to the article, players were sexually assaulted in the football facilities.

Deniability or not, that's abhorrent behavior, and he would likely be terminated whether he knew or not.

*This is all alleged conduct based on anonymous sources from a student newspaper.

Why are sports journalists Darren Rovell, Adam Schefter, Michael Wilbon, Mike Greenberg, and Rachel Nichols being so quiet about this story?

All these NW Journalism Alums are always first to cover any big Wildcat victories. Hmmmm…

He is done. Especially considering last year was a disaster.

I’m not trying to defend Fitzgerald here in any way. I’m certainly not a lawyer, and I agree that he’s probably done. I would just hate to be fired over something I knew nothing about.

I think the argument would be if this was happening under his watch and he didn’t know about it, that’s still probably fireable.

What Bear Bryant did to the Junction Boys was worse. I mean some of them could have died. So if Bryant is still celebrated as one of the greatest coaches of all time this is church picnic hazing.

Yeah, he may have brought them to the brink of death, but not any weird shite like this — and that was even at Texas A&M where I’d expect this kind of stuff

I don't understand why nudity and male sexual stuff is so prevalent in hazing. Not just college football but in frats too. We got hazed in the locker room in 9th grade but is sure as hell didn't involve being naked or touching some dudes ballsack and a-hole. It seems like there are a lot more jocks and frat guys out there that have some homoerotic tendencies than any would admit

Agreed. Even when I played HS ball 20 years ago, the freshmen got their dose of hazing, but it was innocent pranks like hiding their gear, making them carry equipment, or some other innocuous BS we could laugh at them about.

But if anyone ever started to suggest anything like the "car wash" mentioned, or the naked qb/center exchange, people would be really fighting over something like that. That shite would not fly for even a second.

One guy started messing with other dudes while they were in the bathroom stalls and the older team leader type guys shut it down with a quickness telling the guy that the bathrooms and showers were off limits for pranks, then dared him to test if they were serious or not.
