Also, the one thing Richt did was have some of the most brilliant onside kick designs. He had the kickers practice them to perfection. They were just beautiful to see the ball bounce perfectly into the kicking team's arms right as it passed 10 yards and right before it went out of bounds.

not sure that I understand what the 2nd half strategy was.
Your defense only gave up ten points in the second half. They didn't have anything to do with the loss. If you want to look at second half stats to figure out why you lost start with turnover margin.
