The nfc agrees with me, hence why Rudolph didn’t get suspended
i've already said they probably scared of legal implications.

your missing the NFL's angle. The NFL's angle is optics to the league. Mason Rudolph was an equal instigator in an event that brought HORRIBLE PR optics to the league which costs them money.
It’s weird that they didn’t punish his then, isn’t it?
It’s almost like the NFL realizes that the bad optics are Garrett swinging the helmet.

Surprised only a couple of us see it this way. I agree 100%. His actions were finable, but that's it.

How on earth does Rudolph get zero games?
His punishment is having to continue trying to play QB in the NFL.

Has the Cleveland DA spoke yet?
I don’t see how this is much different than the Nhl player who got charged legally for using his stick on a players head

No issue whatsoever with the Garrett punishment, Pouncey should have probably been 2 games, and Ogunjobi should have been 1, but make it the Browns/Steelers game if possible.

but as an instigator, your punishments also should reflect the levels that the event rose to from your instigating.
You should step back from this specific incident and apply the principle you articulated in the sentence I'm quoting elsewhere and see how stupid a rule that is.
If I go into a club and call a black guy in there the n-word, and he gets mad and shoots the place up, your rule would have me liable for however many counts of homicide because I called somebody a name, because my instigating (calling him the n-word) resulted in an incident of multiple homicides. If that's not on-its-face obviously stupid then God help you.

Rudolph is gonna be fined

He deserved a flag and that is it.

Rudolph deserves at least a 1 game suspension for instigating the entire thing. It's sad how much QBs are allowed to get away with and the league could've shown that no one is above the law.

How did you reach the conclusion that Rudolph was an instigator? If it’s based solely on the video of him fumbling his hands around on the back of Garrett’s helmet, and not pulling on anything that would give a person leverage to actually remove the helmet, then how sure are you of what his intent was?
It can also be argued that based on the video, Rudolph might have thought about removing the helmet, but avoided any act in furtherance of it, choosing instead to remove his hands from the helmet.
If no one did anything after that, would you still call Rudolph an instigator for fumbling around the back of a DL’s helmet after being the victim of that kind of illegal late hit? If so, what kind of penalty would you propose the NFL take for future QBs who fumble around the backs of helmets after illegal hits?

Missed this completely since I was watching the NC-Pitt game.
Watching the replay (and good luck finding it since the NFL is pulling that shite left and right from YouTube), Mason Rudolph is a fricking bitch and has no one to blame but himself for this. Not excusing Garrett because that borders on assault with a deadly weapon.
Pouncey has a history and was kicking Garrett in the head while he was on the ground. He should be suspended indefinitely also.

Ben Wallace was suspended for 6 games after the Malice/ Palace incident. Wallace only shoved Artest after taking a hard foul to the head . Nothing else ,but Wallace was suspended 6 games for instigating the incident. Allowing Rudolph to play is a bigger punishment for the Steelers.

Basketball is different. They play 82 games. They suspend guys all the time b/c it's not as big of a deal to miss a few games in a long season, and they are bigger on not having fights happen on the court. They suspend guys just for throwing an elbow when someone's head is close and no contact is made.
Remember that Andre Johnson ripped Courtland Finnigan's helmet off his head and proceeded to punch him in the head multiple times, and Courtland ripped Andre's helmet off. They weren't morons though and fought like men with their fists. Neither of them were suspended.
Fights happen in football. Guys don't get suspended usually.
