Very rare to see an athlete support Trump. Most either hate him or like him but scared to say anything.

It slipped in a recent interview that Tom Brady and Trump still text regularly.

In case you missed it in the OT Lounge, I updated my "Greatest Humans of All Time" power rankings and Brady and Trump rank 3 and 1 respectively

GOAT humans - top 10

If they were smart they would tow the leftist line, especially the white players.

Wouldn’t be surprised if he went Green Party or something. Despite being a lefty he seems to personally like DJT though.

Butker definitely voting MAGA

I'm sure there are a lot that support Trump but are afraid to come out given the woke nature of the NFL.

Have no clue why this was downvoted so much, because it’s true…

They aren't lecturing us about political policies or railing on the other guy being terrible. Its a post of support after the man survived an assassination attempt.

I don't think many people who complain they want politics out of sports would take issue with some players making posts in support of Biden or another lefty political figure that had just barely survived an attempt on their life.

They honestly should stay out of it.

As this post shows being a public figure is more/less a 24 hour job and participating in social media is part of “the job.” The money professional athletes earn is in part based on their status as public figures.

Most of us who talk politics on the internet do so under an alias on line and in a manner that can be completely separated from our professional careers - we aren’t hanging Trump posters on our office doors when there’s a chance half of the kids that work for us are full-on anti-Trump. And We’d be failure in our jobs if we turn our workspace into a political dogfight.

Yes, liberal athletes are 100x more guilty of this than conservative ones.

Who fricking cares. Shut up and dribble.

On second thought, all of this is horse shite. People on the right scream at Lebron for being a shill, yet have no issues with people who shill for their guy. People on the left complain that people hate LeBron because he shills, yet feel the need to ask why people are now celebrating athletes that politically agree with them. Can't we just have one fricking thing that isn't political anymore?

Agreed.

And why would anyone give a frick what any of them think anyway beyond hero worship? Nothing against any of them, but most of these guys come into great wealth at a very young age for reasons that have nothing to do with the Real World.

I am sure some NFL guys are very smart and knowledgeable, but it's not exactly a group I turn to for political opinions.
