Here’s my thing. What is the NFL’s long term plan for Peacock? Nobody wants to get a monthly subscription to anything just for one 3 hour event. What are they going to broadcast there regularly that justifies me being a monthly subscriber to an otherwise unrelated platform?

They carried the SNF broadcast for the entire season.

I believe that the NFL is trying this out with the eventual plan to do it for the entire playoffs and also make you pay to watch the superbowl

Not exclusively, so this doesn’t really help. Chances are most already have the games on NBC through other streaming platforms if they are watching all the other games

Not so sure it’s the NFL being overly greedy as much as NBC trying to leverage their foothold in football to give their platform (Peacock) a boost. I know a couple of ND football games had been aired exclusively on Peacock over the last couple years as well.

So do you just have to have a peacock subscription to watch or is it an additional cost on peacock?

I don't quite understand the outrage.

NFL has been doing this for years.
As an example, not every carrier (Direct TV, Dish Network, Cox cable, xfinity, over the air, etc.) automatically carried the NFL network on their standard packages without an upgrade. Many years ago, ESPN wasn't available without an upgrade to a standard package.

Now with everyone "cutting the cord" you have a different type of service which is unique with their programming.

Either pay for it or go to a bar that will be carrying it.

Also I thought everyone game up the NFL years ago.

Downvote away.

I subscribe to Instacart and I got Peacock for free when I signed up.

This is a very ironic line. The entire article is written like this douchenozzle is trying to sound superior and intelligent

He isn't wrong though... putting the game on Peacock is criminal

Aren't all games not on broadcast television technically "behind a paywall"?

NFL network was basically a paywall station at its inception. You had to pay additional to get it. When your team's game was on NFL network you had to pay extra to watch, like buying a boxing match on HBO.

What is it, $15? That’s a few beers at your neighborhood pub. Who cares?

Imagine acting all cool and nonchalant by spending $15.

Heck I subscribed to Peacock a few weeks ago to watch that random regular season game. I'd pay $50 to watch a playoff game if that's what it cost.

Old man yells at cloud.

If you don’t want to subscribe, don’t. All you have to do is get the free trial for a day and then cancel it before it charges you the whole 6 bucks. For what it’s worth, 6 bucks is pretty good for peacock. It’s a good service. I’ve had it for quite a while now.

Peacock is $5 bucks a month and you get all the WWE events with it. Including Wrestle Mania. I don't watch wrestling on a weekly basis, but I will watch a few WWE PPVs each year. So, if you watched wrestling in the 90s it's really cheap. It's the cost of one PPV for the whole year
