I’m sure he will love LA until the point when the Lakers aren’t winning enough and then he has 10 reporters up his arse asking why he can’t miracle their asses to victory.

He had problems with the basketball press in New Orleans which is almost non-existent compared to any other NBA market. The LA and national press are going to drive his arse crazy.

His agent had no incentive at all to get him a better contract.

He could represent himself and still get the maximum amount of money.

Most agents don't take any money from NBA contracts for the big time stars. They do take a larger than standard cut for endorsement deals though.

Seems reasonable for the NCAA to expect someone to hold a college degree before advising kids whether or not they should stay in school to get their degree.

I feel like you’re probably an idiot if you hire someone who doesn’t have a law degree to represent you when negotiating a legal contract, especially when the other side obviously has legal representation.

But the NCAA is trying to be discriminatory, and is trying to hold Rich Paul down

Why should a guy with no college degree be able to advise players on college eligibility?

NCAA requires agents to have bachelor’s degree

I mean, I do think this is kind of a dumb requirement.

I don’t think this is specifically aimed at Paul. I think it’s aimed at every sleazy uncle/handler that wants to pretend to be an agent and leech off these kids.

All Paul has to do is let some other college degreed agents be the pint of contact. Or go to some shitty online degree factory like SNHU or Ole Miss and get a degree

Wow. I can't believe the National COLLEGIATE Athletics Association is making it a requirement to finish COLLEGE before negotiating multimillion dollar contracts.

Very clearly a rule to protect these kids from helicopter family.

What does the NCAA have to do with NBA contracts?

This is probably more to do with players who may want to return to school after testing out the draft.

Why should GMs who’ve never played a sport tell a player anything sports related?

He could also just get an agent with those qualification to work for Klutch as their NCAA adviser. The solutions are so simple that I doubt the NCAA had blocking him in mind when they came up with the rule.

And it seems to only apply to NCAA athletes going to the NBA. Once they're in the NBA theres no rule that says Rich Paul cannot represent them.

Lebron is being a drama queen and thinks the world revolves around him.

Yes, for the draft and rookie deal only. Then hes not barred from representing them.

It's actually only for kids who want to hire and agent and test the waters, and possibly return to school. If someone wants to just leave school and not worry about going back, they can hire whoever they want (as longs as the person complies with the rules of the NBA).

I honestly find it strange how much society holds onto this need for a college degree mentality

It honestly fricks a lot of people over in the long run
