I honestly would’ve rather just going to Georgia Tech and losing like this.

Nah. Programs develop by learning through experience. It took LSU 5 trips to Omaha before they won it all for the first time.

Even in defeat, if it happens, this is a good stepping stone for the program

100000% agree. It also gives attention to the program on a national level. Making any post season is also a decent recruiting tool (even though not as much anymore with the NIL bullshite).

I would never give up Tulane's spot in the CFP even though we got thrashed. Nor would I give up our CWS appearances.

Not anymore. There are no more program building phases. Every team is year to year now.

SC had a great season. Not quite ready for Omaha, but got pretty damned close. Restock the cupboard and go again next season.

I've become immune to spectacular chokes. Had already assumed the game was over at the start of the 9th. I didn't expect such embarrassing fashion though.

SC more likely they get pillaged in the portal again by SEC teams with actual spending money than reload. This was the best chance to get to Omaha both of us will likely see.

Pre-NIL I would have agreed on program trajectory, but that isn't particularly important anymore.

St. John's/Bama and Oklahoma/Kansas both finishing up Game 2 this afternoon. Unless we see a pretty crazy comeback in either game, then there won't be any Game 3's this evening and the CWS field is set.

Even if we somehow made it through this, we’d be dealing with at least two more SEC teams.

Probably would’ve been a valuable experience.

I don't know how that call stands. First baseman was very clearly off the bag the entire time he had the ball.

He's good, has he extended much this year or has he been a multi-appearance guy?

Started a few times in April, but became the lockup closer later on. He earned 3 saves in the regional.

I will say, I don't put a ton of bets on college baseball, but I'm not really thrilled with the rain suspension completely changing the offensive profile of this game. I need runs.

ETA: So on that note, I'm pulling for Kansas to win this game.

OU’s starter wasn’t even good, and we kept bailing him out.

This guy is also not that experienced.

You on over 13.5 and thought it was a lock too?

Thirteen, but yeah.

Especially with 9 runs after 3 innings.

But this home plate ump has decided to make the zone gigantic and even replay is fricking up to suppress offense.

Rahe is spent.

Here’s your runs if that’s how this works.
