That is a very recent addition to the justifications for the conspiracy. Another layer to the Sharpshooter's Fallacy.

And nobody can explain Wemby, the biggest prospect since Lebron, going to SA.

Damn. I had forgotten Orlando had actually drafted Webber the year after they got Shaq #1. Then traded him for Hardaway and three first round picks.

The flattened lottery odds have inadvertently made the league worse.

A league that already crushes the have-nots, that the league's partners just routinely bad mouth and dismiss the teams that aren't premier, wishcasts every good player to about 6 teams...

And these odds keep the bad teams bad. There's no hope.

Look at the NFL, its the opposite:

The League's premier team is KANSAS CITY.

The worst teams get high picks and fans get to get excited over them, hope springs eternal. That is the best thing about the NFL.

The NBA: There's no hope. It needs to change

I say scrap the lottery
Every team who doesnt make the playoffs gets the one ping pong ball. Everyone gets the same chance
Eliminates tanking completely
Eliminates most conspiracy theories

Only the top, let's say 8 (I'd argue for 5-6 at most however), should have a chance at the top 4. Then 8-14 have another lottery for that seeding

Its ridiculous that teams like the Mavericks can just keep doing this while the Wiz are just STUCK forever.

I don't agree. The lottery is the way to go. We don't need 10+ teams all trying to tank to end the season at the same time.

In different cities. He was obviously referring to Zion and AD, which would be inaccurate.

And conspiracy theories for both of those are pretty apparent.

Regardless, the lottery needs to go back to heightened odds for the worst teams.

The league takes a dump on certain franchises and they are just stuck forever.

This is the third straight year where the worst team in the league ended up with the fifth pick in the draft. There is an 11% chance of that happening in any given lottery.

I thought about Wemby and it made no sense. I’m not some conspiracy theorist about this topic, just stating that it seems a little weird that bad things happen to a franchise and somehow they win the lottery.

We have won two of the best ever draft lotteries ever and still suck forever

Not every lotto has to be rigged. Special occassions. Ewing, rose, dallas being for me the most likely ones to for sure have been manipulated. Rose missing out on chicago would have been bad but no worries, same with lebrun

the problem with the NBA lottery is that they don't need to include the play-in teams

Yes, coincidentally the team was up for sale at the time too.

and then got Zion after losing AD?
Appears to be a theme here with trading superstar players to the Lakers and landing the 1st pick, despite not having all that good of odds.
