So you're telling us a healthy Rockets team is going to win 74 games next year? That's 90%.
The cop-out to that will be that Chris "Glass Joe" Paul will not stay healthy.

The Houston Rockets' initial offer to Clint Capela in restricted free agency was in the four-year, $60 million range, according to sources. Capela, however, is seeking a deal similar to Steven Adams' four-year, $100 million deal. Capela's restricted free agency market is limited due to the dearth of teams with cap space and the expectation Houston will match any reasonable contract. Capela was the 25th overall pick in 2015 and has emerged as one of the best centers in the NBA.
Clint
my man. You should go ahead and take that 15 mil.

He should bet on himself and be a UFA next year. We like our players to believe in themselves.

NBA GMs, in general, aren’t that dumb. Clint is an average centre take him away from harden, chris, and coach d’s system. Although we have seen guys get overpaid after playing in this system 25 mil is a bit too much.

It's the classic disease of more.
More success equals more of a demand from players (money)
Happens more in the NFL than NBA due to the amount of players on the team. Look at Philadelphias turnover from last year.
Unfortunately for Rox fans they didn't even get a Finals appearance from this team. They will forever wonder what could have happened if Chris's leg held up. They could've made the Finals and probably would've won the title last year.

Capella thinks he's worth $25M/yr? 4/60 for a center that plays defense and catches ally-oops while having zero offensive game is more than enough.
Hope he doesn't get Noel'd.

Ariza is good.
Some days he's terrific.
No one available is the exact Ariza replacement because most good to very good comparable size players are already under contract.
And if there were one, its possible Houston would not be able to match the whatever offer and still have space in 2020 when some high profile guys will be on the market again. The market and desire for relevance sometimes dictate that a nobody throw money around. You can't compete with crazy.

We know James and Clint will get better. Then you have the organic team growth that comes from year 2 of Chris and James playing together. Hard to see them anywheres but in a game 7 v GSW after they #runitback

I think melo could be a solid 3&D wing if he actually put the effort into becoming just that.
His career trajectory is more "Seattle Sam Perkins" than "3 and D wing"

I'd say he's in the same boat as DeAndre, Drummond, and Adams in that he's limited on offense and known for defense, or being a roll guy. Though, I'm not sure how good he is on defense.

I'm not trolling at all when I say that I'm on the "Houston got a little worse" bandwagon
Just no way to sugarcoat this offseason

Well, I'm not sure what "deserve" has to do with it. It's market value, and they are all paid about 25M/yr
ETA: I wouldn't really want to do that. I think they should probably be anywhere from 15-18 mil, but the market has said differently these past few years. (Even this year if you look at DeAndre, though I'm sure his per year salary would have gone down substantially on a multi-season deal)

Morey sounds like he's playing the long game on replacing Ariza and Mbah a Moute: "We need our best team on April 15th. We're going to either sign or trade or something to get us back to where we need to be (but) we also really like our group."

Luc ain’t even play in the playoffs. And they were muuuuuuch more than a luc and Ariza away from the rest of the pack. Tbt even with no Chris last year they were the second best team.
