Not really. He was resigned to a rebuild if anything. Pretty broken after the Kyrie tenure. Walker news started popping up and he was "whoah".

Another one:

Any smart front office would have signed Randle and then kept the other 60m open to become a way station for bad contracts over signing 5 role players to 1 and 1 deals. They aren’t trading those guys for anything other than 2nd rounders. Congratulations dumbasses.

Shams needs to just tap out at this point. Woj has kicked him off the big boy table.

shams backers were trying to make him seem like he was a legit rival to Adrian. But In actuality he never was.

What control does D Lo have over this sign and trade w/ GSW? Obviously he gets paid max (lots of teams would have done so imo) and he immediately goes to a great team. BUT its known he'll get traded at some point so why does he want to sign this deal knowing he's not controlling his ultimate destination?

A lot, so I’m guessing he wants to give it a shot.

The 117 million dollars probably makes up for it

he will be traded and the team he ends up with have to surrender a lot of assets to acquire Russel ultimate hurting whom he'll end up playing most with.

Like I stated earlier, the story circulating on twitter last night was the money was too good pass up. He was waiting on the Lakers to make up their mind and then came along the Warriors, aided by the KD camp from other stuff I've read.

Maybe just playing with a team with championship pedigree, and the Warriors are a big TV draw, so perhaps he sees it as an opportunity to enhance his "brand" to get even more teams interested. It's true, he lost control of his destination with this move, but maybe he doesn't care at this point.

You asked and I answered. If he didn’t want to go to GS all he had to do was not sign w/ the Nets and sign an offer sheet somewhere else/wait it out.

Also if him and Curry mesh well and it works I don’t think it’s a given GS trades him

Exactly, I think they envision a new backcourt of those two with Klay sliding to the 3 when he comes back. He's not heading to GSW if he can sense they are just trading him down the line

I'm not sure I agree with the general consensus that D'lo doesn't fit in GS. They just become a team where all the firepower is perimeter.

But Steph, D'lo and Klay are three good options for a team based in bombing 3's. All three of those guys can shoot it and are decent passers.

True, but I see very little, almost no chance this happens.
