You want to pull up his defensive numbers for me hotshot?

Klay’s?

Why would I have to do that?

The point was the deal wasn’t just made for next year.

Golden State is trading Andre Iguodala to the Memphis Grizzlies, league source tells ESPN. Warriors are sending a 2024 protected first-round pick in the 2024 (protected 1-4), 2025 (protected 1) and 2026 unprotected.

no.

Memphis is giving up the pick.

Not only tht. Whenever that team is actually all healthy, in 2020, those 4 players will have a combined salary around 140 million

Draymond probably isn't there at the start of the 2020 season

W/ Iguodala trade, Russell and Klay both maxes and dump Livingston's GT, GSW 5 players. A mere $18.2m below the hard cap to fill out 9 roster slots. Even if they keep McKinnie, Graham, Napier NG, $13.1m for 6. Goodbye Looney, Cousins, Cook, possibly Bell.

I do wonder what this means for Draymond there long term. Unless he’s willing to take a big hometown discount might mean he’s gone

I was never discussing what the long term outlook of the deal was.

Going into this upcoming season the warriors look more like a team that will look to outscore their opponents on account of their lack of defensive personnel on the squad.

Both DLo and steph are good 3pt shooters, but they're both minus defenders.

Dlo had his best defensive season this past year but he was still a minus defender. Steph probably wont improve defensively for the rest of his career.

Think of all the ways D'Angelo Russell being an undeserving injury replacement to the All-Star game in a very shallow conference changed NBA history. Meaningless optics had a huge effect on his perception.

Nate Duncan here kinda piggy backing on my post from earlier.

If they don’t keep him they cant get anyone else. Either way they gonna be over the cap.

Draymond is extremely important to their success they have to keep him if they want to continue to compete for championships

If they were going to sign KD he was going to be gone next year anyway. I could see him taking less bc he'll be 30 years old and he's shown signs of slowing down the last two years already.

And Quinn Cook seemed more like a buddy move as a favor to KD. At least that's what I believe.

Why would he take less then?

Once you start getting old, you grab a big long term guaranteed contract. It’s after that contract you start taking vet mins and ring chase

Good thing Green won't be "surrounded by minus defenders" then.

He was an alternate, first off.

I like D'Lo. But I just don't know what the market will be for him a year from now when you're locked into 30 mil/year.

I guess with Klay and KD being out there's a few more spots open on the AS teams, but I think it's a stretch to call D'Lo an all-star lock going forward.
