Gretzky would have more points than any other player even if you took away all his career goals.

If you took away all of Hank Aaron's home runs he would still be in the 3000 hit club.

Scottie Scheffler has he 3rd most weeks ever ranked #1 and would need to stay top ranked for another nine years straight to catch Tiger's total weeks ranked #1

The New Orleans Saints selected punter/kicker Russell Erxleben with the 11th overall pick of the 1979 NFL draft.

Actually as a Saints fan since 1970 this story is not that hard to believe.

Tom Brady has the second most receiving yards in NFL history for players over the age of 40

Tom Brady has more Super Bowl MVPs than losses to Buffalo in his career.

The Houston Oilers were in the AFL East from 1960 to 1969 and yet they have as many AFC/L East titles as the Jets who have been in the division for 65 years. The Baltimore Colts also have 4 AFC/L titles.

The Texans beat the Steelers 24-6 their inaugrial season in a game in which they were outgained in total yards 422-47

While there have been 45 seasons in which a player has had more HRs than Strikeouts...Since 1956, it's only been done twice--by George Brett in 1980 and Barry Bonds in 2004.

Joe Dimaggio almost did it for his entire career. He had 361 career HRs to 369 Strikouts.

The last player to lead the National League in hits for a decade and make the HOF, was Robetrto Clemente in the 1960s.

Larry Fitzgerald had more career tackles than dropped passes.

Cy Young finished his career with 511 wins. The most untouchable record in sports.

Don Mattingly hit six grand slams in 1987. He didn’t have a single one in all of his other seasons combined.

Hmm, I don't think that's accurate.

70s: Pete Rose
80s: Robin Yount
90s: Mark Grace
00s: Todd Helton
10s: Joey Votto
20s: Freddie Freeman

So two Hall of Famers, one guy who should be a Hall of Famer, and one guy who will be in the hall of fame when he retires.

wait, disregard Yount...forgot the Brewers used to be AL

Babe Ruth hit 183 homers after Clint Eastwood was born.

Ted Williams had a higher batting average during Joe DiMaggio's 56 game hit streak than DiMaggio.

It took Pete Rose 2,787 more plate appearances than Ty Cobb to collect 67 more hits than Cobb.

I love these threads because of absolutely insane stats like this.

This is really hard to even comprehend.

Keith Hernandez led the NL in hits in the 80s, and no one on that list in the HOF

Thought they trailed Auburn for one 3rd quarter possession? No teams offense took a snap with the chance to tie or take a 4th quarter lead.

Jack Nicklaus won $5,734,031 (officially earned on PGA tour) in 584 PGA Tour starts for an average of $9,818 per start.
Scottie Scheffler has won $111,095,029 in 161 PGA Tour starts for an average of $680,031 per start.

That is just under 70x more money per start. Even after adjusting for inflation of about 7x since Jack's prime in the early to mid 70s, the difference is still ~10x.

Jack won 73 of 584 (12.5 percent) of his starts.
Scheffler has won 20 of 161 (12.4 percent) of his starts.

Tiger won 83 of 378 starts (21.7 percent) and $320,103 per start.

Crazy money on the PGA tour today (Thanks, Tiger).

Only two pitchers in MLB history have started more games than Cy Young has thrown COMPLETE GAMEs. Nolan Ryan and Don Sutton.

749 complete games is absurd.

If you just took the innings pitched from his complete games, he would have pitched in 6741 innings. The pitcher with the 2nd most innings pitched all time had 6003.

Another crazy pitcher was Old Hoss Radbourn who in one season pitched in 73 games and threw 73 complete games going 60-12. He had 441 strikeouts to 98 walks. He then goes and pitches 3 complete games in the world series winning all three games over the Mets to win the title.

Man threw 678 innings in one season The most Nolan Ryan ever threw in a season was 332.
