Speaking of drafts, the 1977 NBA draft has to be up there for insanity.
Bruce Jenner was drafted 139th overall. Even if you consider them a woman today, they still wouldn't have been the first woman taken in that draft. The New Orleans Jazz selected a pregnant woman, Lusia Harris, 2 picks before Jenner. She is the first woman drafted by a men's professional league and the Jazz actually planned to let her on the team but didn't know she was pregnant. She is in the Basketball Hall of Fame.
The 1977 draft also had the Lakers draft Scooby Doo and the Celtics drafted their water boy but both picks were voided by the league. After the Lakers pick got voided, they then drafted a wooden chair.

While playing for the Los Angeles Kings, Randy Holt received 67 penalty minutes in a single game against the Philadelphia Flyers on March 11, 1979. That remains the NHL record for the most penalty minutes by one player in a game.
