Give the kid a real football at his feet, its not to late.

Not sure where that came from.
You made a post on More Sports Board about how good of a dad you are and gave unsolicited advice on how other dads can be good like you. You have a bible verse in your signature. You go on to recount your meetings with celebrities and their words of wisdom. You throw in "Love God, hunt ducks" as if we should commend you for that.
edit: Now that I think about it, you must be a troll. Nice job. I'm not an easy one to troll.

Your son couldn't make it anyways but it is his choice in the end.

Good for him as well as you. I hope he makes the PGA or gets a Grammy. It's not for everyone and the health issues are concerning. God Bless

Good call. Has he considered being a jockey? Or a cross country runner?

I will be happy if any of my kids grows up to want to do any sport at all. Or any worthwhile activity.

Sounds like he was scared of August football

Just to be clear, 5'5", 120lbs, at 14, is absolutely nothing special regarding football.
Eta: I was that size in 8th grade and wasn't even in top half of biggest player at my school. Ouachita Jr high.

Soooo, this is a thread to brag about how good your son was at something, then brag about your son's choice to quit said activity, while then bragging about your ability to play more golf and hunt.
Seems like you could learn something from your son

This is a smart move. Get him to a < 5 handicap and he'll get a scholarship somewhere.

I was 6' at 14, and there were a few others around my size in 8th grade. 5'5 seems really small to me, even for a 14 year old.

Same. My son opted, after trying baseball, soccer, golf, basketball, football, water skiing, snow skiing, wakeboarding, snowboarding, tennis and swimming to focus on tennis and swimming. Now we go play racquetball together and tennis together as a family. We go to swimming events and yell and cheer. It's great to have options and let THEM decide what they fit in with and enjoy.

My kid will play rugby and soccer before football.
Rugby will teach how to properly tackle
