I'm actually shocked it's not a consensus for Tom Brady.

No way is it Deion. They're just talking to talk. It would have to be Montana, Walter Payton, Peyton Manning, Brady, or Rice. I would even throw LT into the mix.

Sanders was never the most popular NFL player.

But he was the coolest. I think only Griffey can compare from pro American sports.

Tom Brady and it’s not even remotely close.

I don’t even care for him myself, think he’s highly overrated and a cheater.

But he’s tiger woods of the NFL.

All the guys grew up watching him, they all wanted his jersey after the game, connecting with him outside the game for advice.

It’s so easily Tom Brady that second isn’t even in the same universe

"He was a guy that came along and broke a lot of the conventions. He was like a rebel with a cause. It was like traveling with a rock star. He just was a magnet. He's attracting people. And mostly young people. And talk about excitement and energy. Wow!" says former teammate John Dockery about Joe Namath on ESPN Classic's SportsCentury series.

There always seemed to be something magical about Joe Namath, a rebel at a time when the country appreciated one. He was cocky, but in a likable way.

Don't see Brady in that role.

Did people outside of NE really like Tom Brady? As a player, was he this loveable and extremely interesting dude?

He is well known by people who don't even watch football which is sort of the point. It's not about who the NFL super fans like or care about.

As long as madden videos games are still around with each new NFL season, Michael Vick is the only answer
