Lincecum played for a decade and won 3 Cy Youngs. That is not a flash in the pan.

*2 time cy young award winner. He came in out of nowhere and dominated, but it was for a very brief time. He had 4 good seasons then the rest of his career was garbage.

Mark Prior comes to mind. Had 42 career wins, 18 of which came in 2003.

In the same vein, one could perhaps go with Kerry Wood. Though maybe unrealized might be a better label.

Gregg Jefferies

Didn't he hit .342 or something one season but never did much else?

Brady Anderson

He was always a legit decent leadoff (certainly not Rickey Henderson) and CF even outside his steroid 50 HR season.

Could punt and kick, but couldn't start at both.

So many people on her don’t know what a flash in the pan means. Lincecum? Gregg Jeffries???? Lol. He hit .290 over 14 years. Prior was legit but the injuries got him but I guess he’d qualify

Lincecum & Lin are both poor answers.

Todd Marinovich. … raised by a father who was a control freak. During his adolescence and teeanage years, TM was on a strict workout plan and had never eaten fast food until he got to college. Then when he got to USC, he turned into Jeff Spicoli and partied like a rock star. Pretty sure ESPN did a 30 for 30 on his life story.
