I don’t mean like EVERYONE in the NBA is quitting and trying out for the NFL tomorrow. I’m saying that they have the skill set to play.

And even if that did happen, sorry almost every receiver and TE in the NFL, you’re getting replaced.

Most basketball players are just much better athletes than football players.

Football guys don’t like to here this, but you don’t have to really have skill to play it, just like to lift weights and play hard. Gotta have skill to play basketball regardless of position. Obviously NFL players have extreme skill to go along with that, but the average NBA player is way more skilled and coordinated than the average NFL player

Way too high On both.

And nfl has nearly 4x as many players, so it will be much easier to make nfl
Bc of that.

nobody 6’10 and up playing in the nfl. And anyone a couple inches shorter would have to be able to have the frame to add weight to play as a lineman.

Stephen adams could make a solid DE in a 3-4 scheme with a more athletic pass rusher on the edge

Yes, maybe not almost every receiver cause hell there aren’t that many players in the NBA.

But I think if every NBA player went out for the NFL tomorrow virtually every starting TE is losing the starting job, not Travis Kelce. And the #1 WR for almost every team would be a former NBA player

Zion would be a great Tackle, I bet he could put on 70lbs in like a week

You are an idiot

Also your percentage for the other way around is way too high as well. That’s it for me in this one

I think part of the qualification to play in the nfl, especially on the lines, is you have to be an insane aggressive mother fricker. And Steven Adams is probably the best I can think of in the nba that fits that role

Russ Westbrook could be a starting corner for sure

Some small forwards could probably make it as free safety

Wouldn’t 20% of the NFL be the majority of the NBA?

NBA players are only going to be fits for a handful of positions. Tight end is the clearest transition spot of the field. It’s where you’ve had scrub basketball players become elite NFL tightends.

Nate Robinson had the talent to be an NFL DB.

I would say it’s more like 15% of NBA players could make NFL rosters and 1% of NFL players could make NBA rosters if it had to happen tomorrow.

The difficulty of the shot taking in the NBA is pretty incredible if you compare it to 30 years ago. A random NFL player isn’t waking up tomorrow and shooting contested threes at a 37% clip.

Lol Kyrie quit on his team and was being a crybaby because he didn’t get to pick his coach. That motherfricker would hang up his cleats for good the first time he took a hit.

If they have to play a starters load as a position for 1 season, “most” NBA players (I.e. >50%) aren’t playing in the NFL.

NFL is more set up to try gimmicky Shiite just for fun, so yes every NBA player can step on the field athletically for a few plays and be no real liability. Even with average dude athletic skills, decoys are useful in football but worth next to nothing in basketball.

most elite athletes in the NBA could absolutely be a TE or DE. Quite a few of them even played QB or RB in high school.

Now NFL players... basically anyone under 6'2" probably has no shot unless they are very elite athletes. Your best shots are probably the tall athletic DEs being an undersized PF.

But yeah, I would imagine that many more NBA players could play in the NFL than vice versa despite the NFL having far more players.

But 70%...no.

I can't think of a NBA player right now that could play in the NFL. Everybody says James. But he isn't physical enough to play TE and there aren't any 6'9 wrs. He would be taking a ton of punishment..

"Most" elite athletes could be TE or DE?!? Lol. The stupidity on this board is without bounds.

Guys like Brock Lesner and The Rock couldnt make a team but you yahoos think "most" NBA players could play TE and DE.

I dare say 0% could be a DE right now. Lebron has/had the ability to be a great football player...perhaps he or a few others could play TE right now. They wouldnt be every down players but perhaps pass catchers.

NBA players are athletic. If certain players had chosen to pursue football, they could have made it. With current muscle mass, few would survive for long. Current rules do make it better but many players cant even make it through the lane without falling and crying.

Football requires a certain mindset. You have to enjoy contact/be fearless. Just being big and athletic doesnt mean you have that.

Very few, if any, NFL players could make an NBA team right now. I would bet on zero (outside of publicity stunts).

Edited to add: actually, some NFL players could likely make a team as Rodman types. Only offense is dunks but there for dirty work. Rebounds and D

I will spin this topic right here and answer it as NBA players that I wished would have chosen/also played football:

AI. He was fearless and exciting. Great highschool player. A bit small but i think he could have been an anomoly. Possible success at WR and CB

Westbrook has similar feel but is bigger. At 6-4, if he had good hands, he could have made a great WR.

Lebroni: 6'9" is too tall for football but I think he was exceptional enough to be an outlier.

Grayson Allen and Christian Laettner: i just wanna see them get crushed
