Most NFL players could not play in the NBA, could most NBA players play in the NFL?

I think the answer is yes. 70%+ of NBA players could make an NFL roster

I bet less than 20% of NFL players could make an NBA roster

ETA: I put 20% to give a range, I shouldn’t have, I think it’s more like less than 5%

Your first statement is a lot more true than your second. Virtually everyone good enough to be in the NBA is in it. I think 20 percent is way too high.

I’d agree. The footwork of the guys in the nba and them being taller I think they could change their body. However, I don’t think most smaller nfl players could make the nba. Even the bigger guys, I don’t think they’d have the footwork.

I agree I just didn’t want to low ball it too much, 20% is way high probably

No shot it’s that high.

Go look at combine numbers. Nfl players are so so so much more powerful. Even at their heavier weight they still have better jumping numbers than the nba players

Go look up NBA players throwing out the first pitch for baseball games. Talent in one sport doesn’t necessarily carry over to others.

If this is based on as is, neither is close. Tall lanky MFers ain’t making NFL, and short bulky dues that can’t shoot ain’t making the NBA.

Agree with poster above that if you can play in the NBA, that is your better option long term.

Most teams don’t carry more than one pass catching tight end

15 players, 30 teams

32 tight end slots

Not unrealistic to think 7%

Two totally different skills sets. Physical attributes are only part of the formula. Gym rats aren’t necessarily athletes.

NBA players are only going to be fits for a handful of positions. Tight end is the clearest transition spot of the field. It’s where you’ve had scrub basketball players become elite NFL tightends.

Well yeah. I'd bet less than .2% could.

Well, I doubt many of them would be playing quarterback

Most positions in football just take a whole lot less skill than basketball. Yes to be great at basketball you have to have size and athleticism, but you also have to be skilled. You obviously need skill in football but not near as much, being fast/strong/athletic is the vast majority of the skill you need

Not a dam one from either could make an mlb roster. What’s your point?

I doubt that the amount of steroids used in the nfl would dominate the mlb

Teams aren’t carrying fullbacks anymore. And others like the dolphins are using DTs like Christian Wilkins in that role

Surely someone would take Demarcus cousins at tight end in the same short yardage sets instead of a fullback
