After more than 30 years with the mother ship, Karl has been given his walking papers too.

Well, so much for Ryan Clark's narrative.

Wow.
Plenty others that deserved to be let go before him.

Aside from live sports, does anyone here put ESPN on? And during the Summer with them never playing MLB, I might not watch ESPN until football again.

Makes sense with espn getting further away from the MLB

Yep, that's what I was thinking. ESPN has dropped baseball. Ravech will likely be picked up quickly by NBC or Fox.
On the bright side, he won't be calling the CWS next year. Maybe they'll also send Ed Perez packing.

Why couldnt they fire eduardo perez?

Hard to take a company seriously that fires Karl Ravech while paying a guy doing Bert Kreischer schtick $60M a year.

That’s not exactly a sound reasoning ….that impersonator generates a huge some of revenue. While Karl Ravich is a really good reporter in comparison, he doesn’t bring in the money the same.

He sucked pretty bad too, at least when he was calling the college World Series
Posted on 7/21/26 at 8:53 am to cubsfan5150
Ravech is better than most at that network
Posted on 7/21/26 at 8:54 am to PSS101
Hopefully MLB Network picks him up.

How does Heather Dinnich keep surviving all of these layoffs?

I'm not a fan of him as a play by play commentator when they have him on during the CWS, but he's great in studio shows
