With the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline nearing, the Red Sox have interest in acquiring a package consisting of third baseman Martin Prado and reliever David Phelps from the Marlins, reports Bob Nightengale of USA Today (on Twitter).

Unless the Pirates get an extremely attractive offer for him, he's not going anywhere.

The Padres have received interest in starters Trevor Cahill, Jhoulys Chacin and Clayton Richard, as well as relievers Craig Stammen and Jose Torres.

Jay Bruce‘s contract contains partial no-trade protection against eight teams, and the octet on Bruce’s list hasn’t changed since the offseason, James Wagner of the Washington Post writes. The eight teams in question are the Athletics, Blue Jays, Diamondbacks, Marlins, Phillies, Rays, Twins, and Yankees

The Yankees are one of the many teams interested in Marlins relievers AJ Ramosand David Phelps, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.

Speaking to FanRag’s Jon Heyman, Hill stated that the Marlins “aren’t talking about” controllable stars Christian Yelich, J.T. Realmuto and Marcell Ozuna in trade discussions.

Asked specifically about first baseman Justin Bour and right-hander Dan Straily, Hill offered similar sentiments, stating that Bour “goes into the same basket” and that Straily’s status as a successful, pre-arbitration pitcher lands him in that same category. The recently extended Miami president stopped short of suggesting that Giancarlo Stanton was off limits, though Hill does say that the Marlins haven’t put his name out to other teams. And, of course, Stanton has a full no-trade clause and an enormous sum remaining on his 13-year contract

Marlins are going to get quite the haul for Ichiro, Martin Prado and Brad Zeigler.
Posted on 7/10/17 at 10:21 am to Lsuhoohoo
They will have to eat some of Prado and Zeiglers contract to get value

METS WILLING TO DEAL LUCAS DUDA
Reported by: Jon Heyman, Fanrag Sports
Analysis (Rivera): Let's be honest: The Mets need to sell like a grandma selling Super Nintendo games at a yard sale. Their chance at a playoff spot is a rough one, and if they keep fighting against injuries, it won't get any better for them. Duda is an interesting trade chip: He's in the middle of a pretty good season with the Mets — he has 14 homers entering the All-Star festivities — and he could offer a team a decent power threat at first. The fact that they're willing to deal him to the Yankees is even more interesting, but the cost will be the question, here.

They already do. It is $25.

Heyman says the White Sox are asking an off putting price for Quintana. Torres and Frazier from the Yankees or Martes and Tucker from the Astros. Which has cooled both teams on him at least for now. Also says the Astros don't view Quintana as an ace and are looking other places.

I really don't see the Yankees giving up Frazier, Torres, Adams, Sheffield, Thutherford, or Kaprielian... Maybe Mateo since he is blocked by Didi/Castro and Torres.

Like i said earlier, Marlins are having a fire sale.
New Owners 2 be, want the debt gone. And one of Yelich/Ozuna will be dealt.
And it's possible Stanton finds his way to a California team. Trading for him can be a win, win. BN claims, if you take on his contract, u pay little. So, If stanton has 2 1/2 years of peak play, in his prime years, he will opt out, and ur free from that deal, while he's in his late 30's. You got almost 3 years of prime play, under Market value.
Worst, is you deal nothing for him and ur eating that deal in 2022 and he deteriorates. Worth risk in my opinion. And Cardinals would be the sleeper in Block Buster bringing Stanton,Yelich or Ozuna, and the SS.

Must be boring in Miami, because some writer floated a what if Carlos Martinez was available. And he claimed he would bring back a huge haul.
No way you deal a top of rotation guy, who's 25, and under control for another 5 years.

They are not trading Yellich and Ozuna both being young controllable pieces.
Stanton would take an extreme offer and someone willing to take the contract
