I don't think you can complain about trying to improve the margins of your club when you're in contention in late July when you're doing so without dipping in to any kind of significant prospect capital.

All this. It's been the plan all along not to dip to heavy into the prospect pool, yet the Braves have improved their bullpen with 2 relievers for $500k in international slot money and improved their bench and right handed power hitting for a cost of 3 guys who wouldn't be regulars on the roster. The focus is on the future, this year happens to be an early surprise.

BTW, the Braves will start three 20 year olds tonight, Allard, Albies, and Acuna.

I cannot believe that the last 5 pages have consisted of folks bickering about a trade revolving around Adam Duvall and a couple AAAA guys.

I got all excited seeing all the new posts thinking there was traction with a Harper trade and I came in here to see that shite smh

yeah, that's what happens when you get a Cubs bandwagoner with no knowledge attempting to the stir the pot. Hopefully it's behind us.

The Yankees have been in touch with the Marlins about both Cameron Maybin and Ziegler, reports Mark Feinsand of MLB.com (Twitter links). New York has reportedly been eyeing an extra outfielder with Aaron Judge and Clint Frazier on the DL, and Maybin would fit that bill, while Ziegler would further deepen an already solid ’pen by giving them a strong weapon against right-handed opponents.

The Yankees, Phillies and Indians are all showing “varying levels of interest” in Giants outfielder Andrew McCutchen, per MLB.com’s Jon Morosi, who writes that San Francisco is more open to moving potential free agents than it was earlier this summer. On the other hand, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic tweets that while the Giants may indeed consider a move involving McCutchen, he doesn’t believe the team would seriously consider doing so until next month in a potential waiver deal. Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle strikes a similar tone, tweeting that Giants are actually still looking at adding to their outfield or rotation in an effort to improve the team’s 2018 chances.

Doesn't seem like a Yankees move considering what he is owed and the fact they have no room for him when Judge comes back.

Houston Astro org getting killed my media for their trade for Osuna.

Scathing comments, calling the org and Luhnow out.

Also, where are the players who were so adamant about being against assaulting women? Kind of quiet when he's one of your own?

Nationals president of baseball operations and GM Mike Rizzo has issued a strong statement about his intentions amid speculation that the club has considered trading star Bryce Harper. As Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post reports on Twitter, Rizzo says: “Bryce is not going anywhere. I believe in this team.”

And when the guy is a closer with years of control and not a career minor leaguer.

It's all about second chances in a zero-tolerance policy

I don’t really care to play the gotcha game with JV, but he definitely didn’t double down on his comments

It feels like Nationals management and ownership could be in a disagreement with what to do at the deadline. Why do you even explore trading Harper if the price is gonna be really high? The clubhouse is a mess and they all know you tried to trade Harper.
