The Brewers are “pursuing” veteran Nationals lefty Gio Gonzalez, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic (via Twitter). Other details regarding the interest, including potential trade scenarios, are not known at this time.

It feels like Nationals management and ownership could be in a disagreement with what to do at the deadline. Why do you even explore trading Harper if the price is gonna be really high? The clubhouse is a mess and they all know you tried to trade Harper.
I think that hes gone. The closer to the trade deadline someone is going to overpay+ they (the nats) are going to come to the realization that it has to get done.

#Rays trade Justin Williams, Genesis Cabrera and Roel Ramirez to #Cardinals for Pham and international slot money
Wow
Who are these guys that the Cards are getting?
Posted on 7/31/18 at 9:57 am to bwallcubfan
Justin Williams was an LSU commit at one point in time

Today is gonna be one of the craziest trade deadlines in recent years.

I'm kind of surprised by this one. I thought Pham was one of those guys that the cards would want to build around. How mqny years of control does he have?

He started the season by putting the organization on blast in the press. He doesnt want to be there.

Damn. Didn't realize he was that old.

Yeah I'm thinking this has way more to do with it than anything else.
Guess Fowler goes back to CF now.

No, clears the way for Bader in CF.
Pham got mad the Cardinals wouldn't extend him and low balled an offer. Good call by the org.
O'Neill, 23, is slashing .311/.388/.711 with 26 bombs in triple A.

@jmjones: Justin Williams, a LH hitting OF, is the #Rays number 8 propsect. He's the big get in the return for Pham. #stlcards have been trying to move right handed bats for left handed bats, and so they did. Room now for Bader, O'Neill.

@dgoold: By moving Tommy Pham, #stlcards clear a route for slugger Tyler O'Neill, who has just about had his way with Class AAA in recent weeks.

It still appears that Chris Archer will be the biggest name traded today with the #Braves and #Brewers grinding to get him….#Dodgers #yankees #Padres #Athletics #Indians #Cubs #Cardinals have also been mentioned as having had conversations about him with #Rays

Marlins supposedly want C Kieboom/Robles+ in any JTR deal
The Marlins should try to move Remaulto because he only has 2 years left of control plus he is at peak value off of this career year. But two top 50 prospects, one of whom is elite, is just way too much.
On other matters, nice trade for the Redbirds. Good value in return plus Pham was a bit of a malcontent. They also traded good, not great, players like Jay, Craig and Freese within a year or so of age 30.

Gotta figure Gohara is one of the prospects that the Braves would trade for Archer. I think Riley could be another prospect because of the way Camargo has played. Can’t see the Braves moving Soroka, Pache, Touki, Wright, or Anderson.

Hopefully thats the deal. Gohara, Riley, and a lottery ticket seems like fair value, but you never know with so many teams interested.

I'd prefer to keep Waters, Touki and Pache.

#Braves are the team to watch on Chris Archer, as I reported on @MLBNetwork earlier today. They have been looking for a controllable veteran starter. @MLB

Same. Touki is very close. He could be big this year out of the pen and next year as a SP.
