I'm very aware of how a swingman works and the Yankees won't need him unless an injury happens now that they have Happ. Also, Cessa has looked good in his last two starts albit against the Ray's and Baltimore. He should have received more instead of continuing to give the ball to German.
Again, I'm not a fan of essentially replacing Warren with Lynn in the bullpen.

Idk man, 1.40 WHIP is still pretty bad, probably more luck than anything else against the bad teams he has faced in most of those starts.
.357 wOBA against, 2nd highest this season, 15 walks in July is the 2nd most this season, 19 strikeouts is the least this season, .372 OBP against is the 2nd worst this year, 7.23 K/9 lowest this season.
And if you're a FIP guy, his 6.46 in July is just barely better than his disaster of a first month which was at 6.63.

Walk rate up and when he does give up a fly ball it tends to leave the park
Meh it is what it is, Happ move was the best move the Yankees made imo and much needed. Britton was a luxury the Yanks didn't need and this is a slight downgrade. Granderson should be a Yankee tomorrow, probably trade Wade for him.

His walk rate is troublesome and his FIP is 4.35 over his last 12 starts reflects that. 53% GB rate alleviates that, with 76% LOB. wOBA and OBP against will be ugly as a result.
8.17 over his last 12 GS, close to his career mark
there is an ugly 1.2 IP 7 ER game in there vs the Cubs. There is also 17 IP 3 ER vs BOSx2 and CLE in that stretch.
I'll repeat, he's not great, but any GM would go to war with Lynn if they needed a starter over Cessa or Adam Warren. This isnt a move about the bullpen, it's SP insurance. You can skip a CC or Tanaka start down the line if need be to give them rest for the postseason, or you have a filler if someone goes down. Severino trending in the wrong direction may have them worried.

According to a source, the Nationals are making it known to other teams that Bryce Harper is indeed available.

What would a Harper rental go for?

Can’t imagine it would be cheap

a similar prospect to what manny got, top 50 positional player, and a legitimate young starter probably

More than I would be willing to give up at this point.

What's the market for Harper?
Phillies
Indians
Astros
Would the Yankees be after him?
Would the Red Sox replace Jackie Bradley?
I'm less familiar with the needs of the NL teams

I think the Braves would have the most to offer as far as NL teams.

Issue with the Yankees is who is out when Judge comes back?
Frazier would have to be included but then you still have Harper, Judge, Stanton, Gardner, and Hicks for 4 positions

Does that mean that the Nats talked to Boras, and he told them it's unlikely they'll be able to resign him? Odds are probably slim anyway, but if they trade him; they pretty much go to zero. Especially if he goes on a deep playoff run with whichever team rents him.

Red Sox don't have the prospects for this type of move in believe
