It’s safe to say STL won’t advance past the wild card series. The offense is straight up garbage.

Did the Cards decide this was a good time in the year to stop scoring runs?

Cleveland now up to a 6 game lead in the central, so that should be that

Milwaukee can’t seem to make their move and continue to stay around 2 games back of the Phillies

Mets and Braves both lose today so Mets still up a game, but they’re tied in the loss column

Padres' starting pitching has been unreal the last week. It's been good all year, but the last 6 games have been downright elite.

Last 6 games (including tonight):
IP: 35.2
H: 15
R: 3
BB : 5
K: 40

The division and the #2 seed is gonna come down to their series next week at Truist. And that's the way it should be.

Stay there. All of you people. Stay there. Wished you would form your own country and run it how you wackos want it run. Leave us alone.

41 consecutive innings without a run.

Apparently so. They’re cooked.

Cleveland is a very dangerous team!! Youngest team in MLB by a mile and those young cats are starting to turn it on!! Hopefully they can sweep the ChiSox tonight and put them out of their misery.

Since the Cards aren’t going to win the WS, I’m rooting for Cleveland to exorcise their demons.

Big win tonight for the Phillies. Braves now 1.5 back in the East and Philly maintains a 2.5 game lead over Milwaukee for the last wild card spot.

That Braves/Phillies series will be the biggest of the weekend in terms of playoff race. Jays and Rays also facing each other which could very well be a first round playoff matchup

with somewhere around 10ish games left, the only real interesting race is the nl east

braves fall a game back after losing last night. that october series between atlanta and new york is the only interesting thing left in the season. that and judge

Currently a game and a half back, we have Odorizzi on the mound against Nola and the Mets get a 3 set in Oakland that starts tonight.

I think it comes down to the last series in Atlanta still, but the Braves need to hold their own against Philly and take care of the Nationals to make sure we don't need a sweep to win it or aren't out of it entirely by then. Bats have been pretty cold the last few days.

What does baseball need to do to restore competitive balance where every team actually has a legitimate shot to compete?

Even with expanded wildcard, the same teams are still at the bottom of the standings. Teams like the Pirates, Reds, Rockies, Royals, Tigers have no chance.

If they truly want to matter again like the NFL and NBA they will need to change the way teams are allowed to operate with some sort of cap. I know you have the luxury tax but that doesn't stop the Yankees, Dodgers, and everyone else.
