Final full week of the season this week!
Cleveland clinches the AL Central so the AL field is pretty much set barring some miracle from Baltimore. Seeding is still to be decided between all 3 wild card teams, I imagine that will go down to the final day or 2.
Milwaukee manages to gain a game and is now only 1.5 back from the Phillies for the final wild card spot.
Mets are 1.5 games up on Atlanta in the East. The 2 teams will face each other one last series this upcoming weekend in Atlanta

Phillies also lost. But unless the Brewers make a big time comeback, doesnt look like theyll be able to capitalize

The games the mets have dropped so far are pretty unacceptable. Like wow they are losing games they have no business losing

Seems like they just haven’t been able to put together much of a winning streak. Hovering around 2 games back but never actually surpassing that 3rd wild card team

It's what happens when you have a AAA bullpen besides one guy.

1-7 at home this month against the Cubs/Nats/Marlins.

Yeah it’s unfair to say they have to sweep every series against bad teams but they aren’t sweeping any of them. Dropping games to a team like the A’s just can’t happen
They have to win 1 in Atlanta this weekend at a minimum now. They do hold the tiebreaker over Atlanta I believe which makes it a little more interesting
Eta and yeah getting swept by the cubs at home is inexplicable

Cards are 3 outs away from clinching the NL Central. In the 9th in Milwaukee.

Had they just won 1 game that Cub series theyd be looking pretty good right now all things considered

This is going to be an excellent October
I am very excited for it and cannot wait to watch

This NL East race is amazing to watch. I would be pissed as a Mets fan. Braves signing young talent for years and them dropping dime for "win now" guys and we are tied after 10.5 games back.
You love to see it.

It's hilarious how Mets fans are trying to spin it, too. "We're not choking, the Braves are just playing great baseball!"

Arenado's first division title about damn time a player of his caliber gets one and in a top 5 MVP season too.

Wainwright and Montgomery have not been sharp. Wainwright should have skipped a start. Hopefully, Goldschmidt snaps out of this funk. Most of the lineup has been in a tailspin the last 3 weeks.

I’ll divert to the NL East Race thread for discussion, but Mets regain a 1 game lead over the Braves in the East
Phillies lose their 4th in a row, and barring a collapse in the 9th against the Cards, Milwaukee will be just half a game back of Philly
Are there any M’s/Rays/Jays fans that know the tiebreaker scenarios if teams finish tied in the AL Wild card? Toronto is up 1.5 games on Tampa and Tampa is 1 game up on Seattle. All 3 teams aren’t exactly in great form with all having a losing record in their last 10 games played.

Aren't tiebreakers based on head to head record?
