Curious to see how he hits between Nick madrigal & Ian Happ vs Acuna and Riley

This seems like something the cubs will regret
Eh, thought he was older than he is. This might be a guy who doesmt provide negative or positive value when compared to his deal

Uhhh.. a 20/80 shortstop with gold glove defense will net you positive value. You compare this contract to the one Xander got and it looks fantastic.

Hes been a 3 WAR guy his whole career and largely played like a 3 WAR guy the entire 2nd half of the season

@thekapman Expect Dansby Swanson to finalize a deal with the Chicago Cubs tonight. They are finalizing it as we speak and are very close to an agreement. #TakeThat.
I guess one ring was enough. Don’t blame him for taking that kind of money.

Thought he wanted to play for a winner.

Which put him in the top 25 for two of the past three seasons. The best value out of the big 4 shortstops.

Dodgers and JD Martinez in agreement

1 year $10 million for Martinez

There was obviously something the Braves didn’t like about Dansby
They either feel like they have a Pena coming up, or they feel like he has peaked and is overvalued

I was sitting in the left field pavilion for a day game when he hit FOUR homers over my head when he played for the D-Backs in 2017. Wonder if he can remember how to do that.

The Braves don't overspend. They have always been a well-run club financially.
They also have never done no-trade clauses. Which Dansby got w/the Cubs.
There are reasons why teams like the Dodgers and Braves always win and teams like the Cubs don't.

Sounds like Justin Turner to the red Sox

JT is a good guy. I'll definitely miss his days as a Dodger if he's gone. He's good friends with Kike so at least he'll have that.

I get that, buddy
I said as much in the DAT before posting in here
I applaud them. Astros are far from reckless also
But it was apparent to me that they were done with him, and the fact the Dodgers let him go to the Cubs only strengthens my opinion that Dansby lacked something the best franchises were seeking

It’s hard to pay a contract like that for just a piece. He’s the 5th or 6th best regular on Atlanta and is now (scarily) the guy on the cubs
