Oh no doubt.

The Braves, Rays, Dodgers, and Astros are the best run teams in baseball IMO.

He just bumped Madrigal from the lineup. He'll be between Nico and Happ or Nico and Suzuki.

Uhhh.. a 20/80 shortstop with gold glove defense will net you positive value. You compare this contract to the one Xander got and it looks fantastic.

Totally agree. He is the best defensively of the four SS's and Boegart's easily the worst and at 31 that defensive range ain't getting any better for Zander.

He'll probably be moved to second in a couple of years and likely won't be better than average there and the bat will start to slide in 4-5 years and they'll have a guy who will be steadily regressing and who they can't get rid of for the last 5-6 years of that contract.

But was he taking up a roster spot that a better player could have been filling for 5-6 years?

True, but it was time to part ways IMO. Turner's bat got exposed in the playoffs

Time to find out what we have in Miguel Vargas, especially with the glove

The curveball wizard. Think he wants to be a starter and the Mets didn’t want that from him. Gonna be interesting

Me too. Turner is one of my favorite Dodgers ever

But a 2 year contract for Turner would have made me even sadder. Time to find out if Miguel Vargas can handle 3B

Blue Jays came into the off-season with 3 MLB catchers who can all hit. They were in prime position to trade from a position of strength and fricked it up.now catching needed teams have essentially made their moves.

Unless they want to trade with Boston, Houston, or Tampa I don't see a team with a chance making a move for a catcher.

Cubs are still in the market for a catcher and have the prospect capital to offer good return.

Word has it they are talking with Tucker Barnhardt but honestly I'd rather one of the Blue Jay backstops even if it means giving something up. I think Barnhardt is on the down side.

The Padres and Matt Carpenter have agreed to a deal for 2023 with a player option for the 2024 season, per a source. Carpenter will play something of a utility role in San Diego -- some 1B, LF, RF, DH and potentially backup 2B and 3B as well.
