not a shocker, very few of you on here have a fricking clue

I wish the Reds front office would be active AF like Milwaukee's.
You and me both, but we have Dick"nepotism" Williams as GM, and an owner that thinks Billy Hamilton is on par with Bench, Morgan, and Rose. Throw in that we keep extending the contract of a manager who not only led the Reds to their first last place finish since 1983(breaking the longest active streak of not finishing last in MLB), but has done it two more times in a row. "Real" example of a winning organization.

don't know about this
5 years is way too many for him. 3 years is the absolute most I would give him. Still a pretty good signing though.

And yeah they have a ton of depth at OF now with Braun, Yelich, Cain, Broxton, and Santana. I don't think Broxton is that good so it's not as big a deal, but I'm very interested in seeing what they do with Santana. He's definitely good enough to be a starter on quite a few teams, but not on the Brewers unless someone got hurt, which is possible with Cain and Braun.

I would also have to fricking think that the Cardinals need to respond now after these moves. With the Cubs still good as shite, and the Brewers improving immensely, the Cardinals HAVE to sign Hosmer at 1B and Greg Holland as their closer. They have no choice and need to do more. If not, they're fricked, and will definitely finish 3rd behind the Cubs and Brewers.

He’d probably rather retire than play for that mess.

They don’t need Hosmer, but Holland would be a nice addition. Brewers don’t have enough pitching yet.

Not really, Brewers still project fewer wins than the Cards by multiple games.

MIL (pre-Cain/Yelich) were projected 75-87 at FG.
Feels low, but I get it: Nelson hurt, Villar was bad, Shaw/Thames/Arcia little track record.
Let's say they added 5-6 wins today. Kick in another 2-3 if you think proj are low on Chase/DS. 84 wins? Much better. Still need SP!
Cards project at 88 wins.

Still really confused about the Brewers signing Cain
Guessing they’ll make more moves but they have so many young guys like Broxton Santana and Phillips to go along with Yellich and Braun. Seems so strange for them to pay big money for an OF who is over 30 when you need pitching

Now they have Santana & philips on the block. I don’t know what the hell they are thinking
They are jeopardizing the future if they trade those guys

Yeah, I don’t get the Brewers love all of a sudden. Cain and Yelich are nice, but they don’t pitch.

I have no idea why they didn’t spend that money on Darvish, Lynn, or Arrieta.

Perhaps try to trade them with others for Archer? What other pitchers out there seem to be mentioned in trade rumors?
Danny Duffy? Fulmer? (Can’t inagine what Detroit would ask though)

Not really they have Cain and yelich under control for. 5 years each. They have to get pitching.

Cain ain’t gonna be bringing much to the plate towards the end of that contract though
Why not ride with Braun, Yellich, and young studs and then pay big for pitching
Now that they signed Cain they aren’t gonna have a ton of room to add pitching depth, atleast through FA
