Any updates on the Pirate? Poked around the twitters but didn't see anything more than was already posted last night.

They are waiting for the other siblings to get in today. They have a decision to make from what I’ve read on our boards.

Jesus. Apparently EMTs had to use the defibrillator on him. Christ I hope he makes it out of this. Safe to say he’s done coaching but hopefully he can beat this and enjoy some RnR.

Was a pipe dream of mine and others for him to take over for Corso in College GameDay

Latest I could find.

https://www.foxnews.com/sports/mississippi-states-mike-leach-critical-condition-report-sheds-light-health-issue

quote:

A report from the Clarion Ledger revealed details about Leach.

The 61-year-old football coach had a massive heart attack at his home and did not receive medical attention for between 10-15 minutes, according to the outlet. Medical personnel who arrived reportedly used a defibrillator machine and shocked his heart back to normal rhythm.

Sources told the paper the situation is "dire," and the coach may have suffered seizures and potential brain damage due to the incident.

This is also out there but I can't link Twitter on my work computer. Not sure if it is accurate or who this fella is.

It is. It was impossible not to like the guy. And he is less than a year older than I am.

Also not sure why someone would down vote the info I posted.

Folks, Take a CPR class... The odds of survival increase dramtically when CPR/Defib is applied in the early moments of a cardiac event.

I’ve long loved the pirate. Have never been affiliated with any of the schools he coached at (in fact, one of his Texas Tech teams administered a good old fashioned woodshed beating to Nebraska years ago).

I’ve always found him to be an interesting, funny, quirky character and even though his teams were always competitive, he never struck me as a guy completely consumed by the game of football to the expense of everything else.

Sad news and prayers to him, his family and the Mississippi State community.
