not trying to be a prick, but this is 100% false. you're conflating a cardiac arrest (person w/ no pulse) and a heart attack. you don't do CPR if a person is having a heart attack. heart attacks can't even be diagnosed unless there's an EKG performed a cardiac arrest and a heart attack are both cardiac events, but they are different, and they are treated differently

Sure. No pulse or very weak pulse and unresponsive then it’s time to start CPR. If they went into cardiac arrest due to a MI you still would do CPR on the scene.

Just do chest compressions until EMS arrives. Most people will not be able to ventilate at all with their mouth.

I remember taking the CPR class in high school and then again before my first child was born. It's always struck me as something that's really hard for a typical citizen to do effectively. Even with novice training.

Damn I kinda skimmed this news thinking he was fine. I've been a fan since his tech days. Hopefully he will be fine and back on the sidelines. I can't imagine cfb without the pirate

Apparently the AC's out recruiting have been told to return to Starkville. And it's reported he's been moved to a hospice setting.

Some friends and I were out on the bayou one day, and this little 11yr old kid jumps off the bulkhead and doesn't come back up. We couldn't find him for like 5 minutes. we finally yank him out of the water and start CPR. I was in my early 20's and in great shape. Performing CPR under that type of stress was more tiring than any set of wind sprints i have ever run in my life.

I don't think Bill Snyder is going by hearsay.

Could be a confused old man moment, hopefully.

Just hoping for the best case honestly

Hopefully.

I also think that if there was anyone like Mark Twain who would love to be prematurely declared dead, it's the Pirate.

This kinda sounds like he has passed but they want to make a formal announcement and not have Bill Snyder break the news.
