Sad. Loved watching Leach’s teams. He had a good thing going over there at Mississippi State. Just sucks.

Did he not receive treatment because he was alone or because no one knew cpr etc?
Wonder if that dude who put out that epic transfer graphic the other day calling Leach out feels like shite

Been following Leach since he was an assistant with an unstoppable offense at OU in the early days. He’s more than a fun guy, he’s a pioneer of modern college football with a playbook and schemes that filtered to different levels of the sport.
Prayers to his family and the team.

He’s battled pneumonia this season, too. You may have noticed, Leach has had a persistent, hacking cough. I’m told that Leach didn’t exactly collapse at his home, as some reported. He’s not brain dead, as others have indicated on social media. The football coach was found on the sofa, unresponsive, after what some think was 10-15 minutes. EMTs showed up and did their jobs. Doctors then worked all day Sunday to sedate Leach, stabilize him, and are now beginning to assess his condition. Does it sound bad? Very much so. But as one member of his inner circle said: “He’s still with us.”
This is from the SECR thread
Slightly more positive update

Folks, Take a CPR class... The odds of survival increase dramtically when CPR/Defib is applied in the early moments of a cardiac event.
not trying to be a prick, but this is 100% false. you're conflating a cardiac arrest (person w/ no pulse) and a heart attack. you don't do CPR if a person is having a heart attack. heart attacks can't even be diagnosed unless there's an EKG performed
a cardiac arrest and a heart attack are both cardiac events, but they are different, and they are treated differently

Paul Johnson is on his way to Death's house to pistolwhip that sunuvabitch and tell him to leave Leach alone.

Well you gotta do something while you wait for the ambulance to arrive. I imagine they probably found him on the ground unresponsive. If that's the case, you can't see a rise and fall of the chest and can't detect a pulse, you do CPR until you can get an AED or until the ambulance arrives.

Uh, a heart attack can result in cardiac arrest. Not always of course.

Ewwww, does he not have insurance to go to a non shithole hospital?
St Dominics and Ms Baptist Medical Center were both on diversion yesterday. It was either transfer him to UMMC or transfer him to a Merit hospital. I highly recommend avoiding 90+% of the merit health facilities unless you want to be cared for by a nurse practitioner in the ICU. Prayers sent for CML and his loved ones.
