Gundy has clearly just quit and Dabo was in the playoff with a chance to win the title LAST YEAR

Klubnik has been quite a disappointment or Clemson would have continued to be who they have been for the last 15 years.

Not much to study. They were extremely successful, relative to their programs ceilings, in the prior era of college football.

In the bidding war, transfer portal, no salary cap era, not so much.

extend that to basketball. coaches that liked program building instead of hiring mercenaries will be a thing of the past until NIL and Transfer Portal gets fixed.

Ehh. It's overstated in both cases IMO. Clemson supposedly has 5-6 1st rd draft picks, whether they actually are doesn't matter, keeping those dudes from getting poached ain't cheap. They also still bring in top 15 recruiting classes. Bottomline they're paying even if Dabo poopoos the idea. In Gundy's case, even if they're not paying big money ya'll can't ever look like a bottom of the Sun Belt team. Dudes on Tulsa's team were jumping off the screen more than Okie St's players. That's coaching/recruiting/development negligence.

Jon Sumrall is getting one of those jobs in December after Tulane wins the AAC... might even lead them to the CFP but he won't coach in it

If I was a top candidate, I wouldn’t take any of the currently open jobs.

Florida and Wisconsin are two you can actually win at that will likely be open.

Call me crazy, but I think that would be a good spot for Coach O to return

Or make him an interim coach to the end of the year

I doubt O is even a passing thought anymore to anybody outside of Louisiana.

I think all the teams listed are probably going to get new coaches but I would also add in Cincinnati as Satterfield has been garbage, the question really is who is the annual surprise team that moves on that does not seem likely.

Alabama - does 1 more loss cause a change, 2, or not happening

UNC - Does Bill walk away after this year?

Colorado - Does Prime walk away

I was wondering about that. Seems like if some of the heirs' money was still around, they would be faring better in the new era. Maybe the old man was the only Cowboys fan in the bunch.

How in the world can OSU even begin to sell someone on this job?

Easy. Gundy was making roughly $7 million.

Golesh: $2.5 million
Kinne: $2 million
Summerall: $2.8 million

Getting an up-and-coming G5 coach or a hot prospect P4 coordinator won't be hard.

Yup. Gundy was a good one. He was good for the game. Alas, the powers that be have decided that those coaches aren’t wanted, due to a changing landscape. It sucks, and the substitute is we get players who don’t give a shite about anything but cash.
