An executive assistant isn't going to have a pay bump like that over 1 year with only 3 years total experience in college athletics admin unless she's screwing someone higher than her on the totem pole or is a nepo baby of someone else in the AD's office.

in this case she was both. I am guessing keeping an NFL executive happy is good for business for college coaches

the only way that pay bump makes any sense is if she had a job offer and they matched. Even then, they could find any number of people willing to do that job for peanuts

Isn't her dad just a scout for the Bears? Not so sure I'd label him as an "NFL exec"

But yes, totally agree. I have friends who have had her career path in college athletics. They made jack shite for years before making any type of income that approached 6 figures. She had an entry level type job. Now, had she been his personal assistant for a decade+, then sure maybe I could see the school taking care of her. But no one is paying a 25 year old glorified secretary 90k after paying her 58k the 2 years prior.

There’s ZERO explanation that makes sense and them trying to find one makes about as much sense as that

And they aren’t just giving her a 60% raise to match another offer. They would literally have hundreds of applicants for that job at $58k.

I know people who work in athletics as well, real jobs that matter to the teams start at like $40k because so many people will take it just to get their foot in the door

Yep, one of my best friends had two masters degrees, one an MBA and the other a masters in sports admin. He started working at, go figure, Michigan and made like 30k, because like you said, he just wanted his foot in the door at a major program. He had to rent a bedroom from someone on craiglist because that's all he could afford up there on his salary. He had to work jobs at three different universities before finally landing a legit associate AD job when he was in his mid 30s. And most people wash out of those jobs because they don't pay well and the grind sucks.

Allowing the coach to have a cute young assistant was a big mistake. They should have insisted on a 50 something matron.

Every HC has a hot young assistant

It just doesn't register as a pearl-clutching moment for me because this has unfortunately become somewhat of a norm for college football coaches.

I don’t think anybody here is pearl-clutching. I think we are just amazed at how stupid he could be and how his crash is an all-timer. Lots of coaches have affairs. Some have affairs with staff members. Some lose their home life. How many have gone to jail hours after being canned?

How do you not stop the affair at that point? Smh.

Build your case, if he is winning look the other direction. If he is losing and you want another coach, pull out the card to avoid buyout.

From behind? No
Missionary? Yes, but only IF she gets
pregnant.

^just kidding

People need to have some education about keeping your job and your sexual proclivities totally separated.

This guy threw away generational wealth for some booty. Poon Tang is undefeated.

This is just as bad if not worst than the Briles situation. A sitting D1 Head Football coach almost murdered his mistress. Give Michigan the death penalty. If you add up all the scandals from the last 5 years they don’t deserve anything.

Considering how dogshit they’ve been the last 30 years, I’d say he sucks at his job.

A lot of programs around the country know of their coaches "affairs" This has been going on in athletcis since before most of us on here were born.

It was well known that Rich Rod had an affair with a cheerleader and got her pregnant back in his first stint at WVU....allegedly.

Terry Bowden had an affair with someone in the athletic department at Auburn.

Bobby Petrino Arkansas

Urban Meyer at UF and OSU

If the average fan knows this, by means of boosters and people close to the program, you can bet that the AD and other heads know what's going on.
Etc etc.

Especially with the way these guys treat women. Like they’re property. Sooner or later, every one of them is gonna OJ their white woman.

I can’t see Moore giving her a 50%+ raise without it getting approved by someone else at the school… Questions had to have been asked?

So, because a few coaches have been shown to be dirtbags, most all coaches are dirtbags? You say it’s become a norm. Name all the others.

Who else is fricking co-Ed’s and/or staffers?

Yes he allegedly got her pregnant and raised her salary, but nothing to see here as she is his subordinate
