Biggest recruit in modern times for Ole Miss?
You can go look up their alltime signees on 247. The top 20 is a bunch of guys from Hugh Freeze era onward plus Oher, Robert Lane, Chris Spencer, and Jerrell Powe.

Jesus this thread went off the rails
The last few pages of this thread is about what I imagine the poli board to be 24/7

Not a lot of people are willing to let someone live with them, period. It doesn't have to be an all or nothing type of deal. Multiple things can be true at once
Pure speculation here. For example, what if Lee Ann already wanted to adapt a child, and she'd talked to her husband about the idea for a while. Then one day Sean comes home, "hey honey, you know how you've been always talking about adapting a kid. Well there's a local kid at the high school who plays football. Huge kid, great athlete , could probably even play at Ole Miss one day. Anyway he's actually homeless right now, and he could probably use a loving home". And it begun like that.

Tuohy’s comments don’t make sense. Clearly stating that he couldn’t adopt him when he could. Then claiming it was the only way he could go to Ole Miss where they happen to be boosters.
Will be an interesting case, but I seriously doubt they didn’t know he could legally be adopted. Sounds more like they did it to get him to go to Ole Miss and then cashed in when they could. Whether they actually cared for him or not is unclear, but they clearly cared about his recruiting.

Haven't read the whole thread, so this may have already been discussed, but I saw an article or post yesterday that said in Other's first book I Beat the Odds;2011) he talks about the conservatorship and how before he signed it that the Tuohys made sure his mother was kept in the loop about everything, etc.
Not saying they didn't pull some shady stuff, but it seems the whole "I didn't know I wasn't adopted; didn't know what I signed," line might be a little exaggerated.

Is TBS going to have to find another movie to play to exhaustion?

So they just won’t go to school then?

Why would they adopt a 17 or 18 year old. Couldn't he legally emancipate and sign his own documents?
They were guiding him and gave him a home. I saw an interview with the youngest son. He stated that Oher has tried to sue and blackmail the family a couple of times already. The lawyers back out once they see all the documents. There is no case, so he's trying to shame them in public. Probably trying to get them to settle so that it will all go away. It's shameful..

Is anyone surprised our resident "above the fray!" moderate is taking this stance? He's almost self-parody at this point.

Tell us more about how waiting for facts is the wrong thing to do here, and waiting for facts means you're some crazy leftist.

Not only did he write it in his book, he has old interviews saying it, and Adoption is literally never said in the movie or the book the movie is based on. Never mentioned.

Give it a rest already. You have ruined this thread. It's no longer about the topic, just your ego. Stop trying to call out another poster for a random opinion and move the frick on.

It's discussed in a scene with Bullock's uppity friends. I believe it's also discussed in a scene with Bullock and Oher's mother.
