225k per person, so for the father and mother doing the scam where they bring in someone to live with them, yes it’s thousands of dollars

Over a million for the family, not a "few thousand dollars"
quote:

And once again, that’s if you slurp up everything oher is saying as 100% truth

I haven't, I said that is what he alleged. But what he alleged is in no way, shape or form a "few thousand dollars." It's 7 figures, but you know that.

quote:

So this 100 millionaire family brings in a black teen to live with them for multiple years so they can later get 225k for husband and wife and throw some at their kids

It’s ludicrous to try and take this seriously
You assume that the scam was set from the beginning, but ignore that they could have just seen the opportunity arise with the movie in the moment. It didn't have to be some big plan from the very beginning.

You literally said millinoairres would NEVER do shady shite for a 7 figure pay day. You played it off as a few thousand dollars but again, it's 7 figures for the family factually speaking, but seems you don't want to stick to facts.

Read that again, tell me that's not the most naive take you may have ever seen on the MSB. Zero chance you can say with a serious face, none.

And in the moment, a family worth 100 million that’s raised this kid for multiple years decides to go through the potential legal trouble in order to keep him from 225k?

That’s your angle that makes me naive for thinking it’s absolutely ludicrous?

They would never do anything at this length to have a payday so small. The ends don’t come close to justifying the effort nor the means. It’s absurd

What makes you naive, again, is you literally said ALL millionaires would NEVER do shady shite for 7 figures.

That is what you said, factually. Try to keep tot he facts, not the shite you keep making up.

Easy peasy

Me saying it word for word, you answering "yes"

You said "show me where I said that" like that wasn't the easy thing I did today.

Are you drunk right now?

Lets see the tale shall we

Yes, I am saying they would not go through all the trouble this scam would entail for basically pennies to them

You know what that comma is, and what the qualifying statement behind it means?

Why lie shel? Take your L

Word for word:

Me: So to confirm, you're saying ALL millionaires would NEVER do a anything shady for another million, right?
You: Yes, I am saying they would not go through all the trouble this scam would entail for basically pennies to them

You're on some shite right, it's literally word for word, exactly what I said, then your qualifier is just reiterating, again, exactly what I said.

Between this and a "few thousand dollars" for 7 figures, just embarrassing.

Michael Oher was an adult when the film was made. He was also an NFL athlete who had an agent who should have read over the film script and the film deal better.

At worst, they may have had altruistic motives to steer him to Ole Miss, but money was not a motive. Sean Tuohy was already worth more money then he could spend.

At worst they used a kid to build a brand and reputation (undoubtedly helped their businesses), collect royalties from books and movies, call him their adopted son, raise money for charities/foundations/speaking events/Ole Miss

AND

screw him out of a fair share of the above.

Yeah I might've fought someone if they turned my life into that bullshite. He already went to the high school thanks to Freeze, was already on track to being a bigtime recruit, and they took him in likely with the primary motive of steering him to Ole Miss.

If he was a QB, maybe I could go with the “they did it to steer him to ole miss” angle. But an offensive lineman? Not a lot of people are willing to let someone live with them for an o lineman Woukdnt just paying him be alot easier, and honestly, cheaper?

A team coached by Ed Oregeron in the mid 2000s SEC is definitely valuing big arse 5 star lineman. The whole point of the book is how important and rare left tackles like Michael Oher are. Until Hugh got there and started buying dudes like Nkmediche and Shea Patterson, Oher might've been their biggest recruit in modern times.

He was a rivals 4 star. Biggest recruit in modern times for Ole Miss? Christ on a cracker Powe was a bigger recruit in their 2005 class alone

Oher was a solid recruit. Maybe worth 5k under the table. Letting the guy live with you for two years with the sole person of sending him to your school? Hardly
