I hit one that crashed into a fence 461 away when I was 16.
No doubt Mr natural got one 500.
At 15. I could get 405 to 410 to center on the reg.
Obviously Mr natural and I were not going against major leaguers. .

Yeah, I was about to say. Bryce Harper and Josh Hamilton had the physiques of 25-year-old men when they were in high school. They were generational prospects because their physical tools were off the charts. Just from the eyeball test, this kid doesn't seem to be on that level at least from a physical traits standpoint.

Were any of you baws a little chunky at 15? I’m sure he will get in shape as he continues growing. He might not have Bryce Harper’s speed but there’s something to be said for a kid hitting towering moonshots at that age

Harper didn't waste time in HS, he got his GED, went to JUCO to play baseball and get draft 2 years earlier?

Maybe have been one year earlier. But he also played JUCO in a league that used wooden bats.

Like or hate Harper, he 1) knew what he wanted to do with his life (play in the MLB) and 2) found a way to get there faster than his peers.

Yeah, he played in JUCO in what would have been his junior year in HS. With wooden bats. And just fricking dominated.

In one of the best examples of the halo effect, something like 6 other players on that Southern Nevada team ended up getting drafted because so many scouts were going to see Harper so often.
