But he also played JUCO in a league that used wooden bats.

Like or hate Harper, he 1) knew what he wanted to do with his life (play in the MLB) and 2) found a way to get there faster than his peers.

Exactly, and as you said, also learned to use wooden bats for a while before the pros.

He laid out a perfect blueprint for superstars.

so they're skipping Hunter Green?

There have been at least a dozen high school athletes on the cover of SI. And he was one. He is in that category of transcendent player but there is a difference in the development of players like Harper or Jordan. Greene steadily improved as a player through his high school career until he made it to that group while the other two came in and just dominated the competition from their first year.

everyone likes the grinders no matter the team... No one likes the potential GOATs from day 1 in their respective sports unless they're on their team

If he's that good, then he should quit HS, get GED, and he can be drafted in 2ish years.

Harper didn't waste time in HS, he got his GED, went to JUCO to play baseball and get draft 2 years earlier?

Harper situation was a lot different, in that he already had a brother playing JUCO ball on the same team. I can't see that working out well in a typical scenario.

According to Statcast the longest HR last year was 495 feet by Aaron Judge. He may be a great player, but there seems to be some exaggeration in that article.

The kid is a rare talent that potentially could be in the bigs in 5 years.. he does need to work on his plate discipline as he strikes out to much from my understanding. I’ve seen him play and know some that have played showcase with him.. It’s always the same, good kid, good parents unbelievable talent..
