Also, I'm never going to root as hard against a player as I am Bryce Underwood. I hope he busts so hard and that he is a prime example of why you should never give a high school kid 10 million dollars before he ever plays a snap in college. If he busts I feel like it'll be a slight teaching lesson for teams forking out that much money before seeing any results.

Bryce Underwood is getting paid by someone who probably wouldn't even know if he was worth 20 million less, let alone 10M.

How pressed would you be if you looked at your checking account at the end of the year and it was 10 dollars less than you expected? That's probably what Larry Ellison will feel if Underwood busts.

Think there needs to be a multiplier. Make it financially much greater to stay for 3-4 years over 1.

What if they don’t recruit you early enough to stay 3-4 years but you’re the best player on your team in one year?

They should just let kids go straight to the NFL. Why is it legal for the NFL to have an age limit? Why is it legal for any league to have a limit?

We have a board in here full of capitalists that love seeing these guys get “market value.” Why can’t they get their market value in the NFL. Dare I say, NBA had it right when guys could go straight out of HS. Dudes quickly learned that they weren’t shite, and that stardom was reserved for a select few.

You wanna get paid? Enter the draft.

You want a scholarship, access to top notch facilities, have a chef prepare your food? Come to college. Sign autographs for money, sell your own shits, get paid to work at a clinic for kids in the hood. MAYBE…they could revenue share.

NIL doesn't bother me much. You have to be incredibly naive to think star players weren't getting paid before 2021.
The portal is the problem.

They don't have an age requirement. They have a rule have to be three years out of high school (or after their original graduating class if they don't finish)l to be eligible for the league.

There is no situation in which a 17 or 18 year old would be physically competitive on an NFL field. They would get demolished and brutally injured routinely. Not to mention the actual mental and emotional rigors of an NFL season.

College ball acts like a great filter for them. Behavior issues show themselves over the years so they NFL dodges a lot of those. Players develop their game and their bodeis dramatically, and those without work ethic expose themselves as well.

Then, many NFL bound players become marketable stars in college with years of TV hype that gives them a boost and something to get people excited about. There's almost no downside for the NFL.

There are tons of things that have some sort of requirement before you can do it, but you aren’t barred from making money before you can do it.

Hey, you can apply to medical school, unless you’ve ever had a job before or made money off of your image, then you’re not eligible

Eh, 20+ years ago yes. A lot of violence has been taken out of the game.

Well yeah. They think they’re worth millions, you get to deal with that shite. That’s life.

Where was all this angst when UGA bought Herschel. Or Auburn Cam? Or Switzer or Johnson or the Bear or LSU?

None of you gave two rips when your team bought players and won while everyone else was taking loss after loss because they played by the rules. Now, that everyone can buy players all of a sudden you are losing interest and the sport is losing its luster. What hypocrisy.

It’s not. The interest is sky high because more teams and fanbases have better teams and a path to a title instead of watching the same 8 teams get invited to the totally corrupt BCS or 4 team system.

The times are a changing and you guys just can’t stand that other fanbases in other conferences are now having success and growing their fanbase. Heck, when Vanderbilt is winning games against Bama you know something fundamental has changed and you simply don’t like it. That’s fine not to like it, but that doesn’t mean everyone else wants to go back to the days where only a few could buy good teams.

I think the fans love the parity, except Bama. This is not why people dislike NIL and portal.

Yeah, I'm done. I casually watched this season and I missed a few Saturdays of no football, but went to ESPN for scores and a few highlights. Didn't really miss it. What's crazy is I was a CFB guy through a s through, but the changes have now pushed me to the NFL lol. All CFNn has now is atmosphere, once that starts to go it's competitive dead
