They are easy to coach actually.

Easy to coach to a reliable story that would hold up in court? No. Sure you can tell a 4 year old to say something but it’s not easy to coach a 4 year old to a consistent storyline or coach them into telling a credible story. Which is, in a nutshell, what is being argued. That a 4 year old was coached into telling a detailed accounting that produced so much incriminating evidence that it forced Heimlich into taking a guilty plea.

But you and I know as mental health workers the kid won’t go to court any prosecutor will do everything in their power to keep them out

The defense will try but eventually have to just subpoena you and then you bill the piss out of defense and write your summary. The notes in your billing will be the testimony of the child.

I don’t know if Heimlich did or did not do it. I do know Oregon authorities messed up.

Deals are offered to convince defendants to take a safe, low risk option than the potential of a lifetime in jail.

Deals are offered so the state does not have to go through the expense that comes with a trial. Felons caught in the act of their crimes are offered pleas every single day.

not reading 6 pages...

Luke Heimlich deserves a 2nd chance...changing my oil at Jiffy Lube.

Seriously, though. Dude need to get his degree (may have it already); legally change his name, move to Europe or some shite like that, and start a new life. No more pro baseball buddy.

Those sick fricks who defend him to the hill in Oregon may have some work for him somewhere.

I HATE questioning children if I can avoid it but in my previous circumstance I mentioned, I did, but it was done in camera on two separate occasions. However, most of what we used was the child’s forensic interview with CPS and testimony from the therapist using the applicable hearsay exception. All I questioned the kid about was conversations she had with the mother.

My sex abuse case this year was worst I ever dealt with because it also had neglect intertwined

The mother knew and coached the 5 year old to say nothing. She (victim) was told it was enemas The kid absolutely believed it as they covered her face. The mother let the kid sleep in her urine said kid had no issue. It was disturbing.
The girls brother was hospitalized in acute due to anger and explosive reactions to the “step father” who was actually just moms boyfriend.
We got the proof for a FINS when mom in a meeting said the room smells like ammonia and I know it’s urine but I’m making her grow up.

The mom threatened to sue the school the agency and county for negligence by trying to make another kid of hers claim they were bullied and abused at school and care programs.

Even the Chinese have more integrity than Oregon State. Sad!

Protip: Just because someone pleads doesn't mean they're guilty. Do you even Brian Banks, bro?

Lol...youve said this before and I'll repeat what I said.

Many many years in prison if found guilty cannot compare to 40 weeks max isn't the same thing.

don't care how simple it made it for my family, there is zero way I would ever falsely admit to molesting a young child

What if they told you (and probably true) that it’s he said she said, and you’d go to jail for 20 years if you didn’t take a plea where you could still get to live your life?

Apple's and oranges brah.

Luke was facing a max of 40 weeks. He more than likely would not do 40.

Good try though.

There are some things you plead guilty to to make it easy on yourself... child molestation ain't one of em.

Not only that but the plea was supposed to be sealed or whatever. It only got out because someone in Oregon fricked up.

Benton county fricked up but his info wasn't sealed. It was to be sealed after his probation etc was over. The reporter did a simple records request and found out. Anyone could have paid the fee and got the info at that time.

he was a child too. So if he did anything it was a juvenile incident which shouldn't have the same impact as wrongdoing by an adult.

He was 15 years old. You telling me a 15 year old doesn’t realize that fingering a 4 year old is wrong? A 15 year old should realize it in the same way as a 40 year old

Uhhh... I think pleading guilty to putting his fingers inside a 4 year old had more to do with it.

Sorry, if I’m falsely accused of molesting a child, I’m not taking a plea.

What about raping a 16 year old girl? Can't have it both ways.
