Luka is still better.

However the Hawks got basically this from last year to this.
Capela for nothing from the Rockets
Gallinari and Bogdanovic this offseason
Flipped Rondo for Williams

That is basically four of your top seven players in less than 12 months.

Here is the thing, Luka has been playing against pros for 8-9 years. Trae, only a couple. I think we would all agree that trae has more room to grow and improve than Luke.

Dallas won the trade because they got the better player. The Hawks front office would swap back in a nanosecond.

I disagree. Trae is perfect for Atlanta.

Still too early. Reddish has been solid, and will only get better. And he's a very good defender already.

I disagree. Its not like Luka is 30. He's 22.

If Luka ever gets serious about taking care of his body and actually getting into elite NBA shape....sky's the limit.

No, he really hasn't.

Yeah, Luka is an average shooting guard with below average NBA athleticism who doesn’t take conditioning seriously. And he’s still arguably the best or second best player ever at his age

He’s got a ton of room for improvement

Yeah agreed, but he definitely needs to get in better shape though.

You're out of your goddamn mind. Have fun with Luka. We're good.

Luka is better at grabbing defensive rebounds. That’s basically it.

Lol nothing like recency bias.

Trae Young is great, but he wasn't even an all star this year. Luka is back to back all NBA first team...

Sorry you weren’t paying attention this year. Numbers speak for themselves. Maybe try to watch more.

Yea I wouldn’t call Reddish solid as a top 10 pick. He’s been a fine wing defender but his offense is lacking. Maybe the new coaching staff will help, but if he develops then the hawks win the trade running away

I mean… Luka was arguably the best 22 year old of all time this past season so not sure how you could say the Hawks win it running away.

The Hawks have just done a much better job in the front office than the Mavs have since that point.

The Mavs got the better player. The Hawks built the better team.

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but the Hawks have done a great job with their picks the last few years.

Obviously Trae is a star. But other guys like John Collins, DeAndre Hunter, Kevin Heurter are all really solid. Cam Reddish is horrible on offense, but can make up for it on D.

This team's future is very bright. With them all being under 25 with alot of potential, and the Hawks may have found their coach of the future, this definitely won't be the Hawks last playoff run.

Both teams can’t “win” a trade involving two players. If they did they’d have both “won” without the trade.

Pretty much all modern, non-Marxist economic theory would disagree with that.

Trae just scored 48 points and nearly got a triple double in a road game in the conference finals meanwhile Luka is sitting at home. GTFO

Those stats are insanely close, but stats that do favor Luka like BPM and VORP are completely omitted here. Just for the sake of fairness.

The point of the post was in response to the guy that’s acting like what Trae is doing is new. “Recency bias”.
