Hawks front office would swap back in a nanosecond.

Trae just dumped 48 on the Bucks in their house and has averaged over 30PPG and 10+ APG for the playoffs.

GTFOH!

That's being kind. If that happens, the melt by some on here will be epic. People will get banned that night.

In baseball, the Yankees trading Aroldis Chapman to the Cubs worked out well for both teams. The Cubs got a top flight closer that helped them win a World Series and New York got Gleyber Torres, who is currently one of their best players. Also after Chapman won the WS with Chicago, he resigned with the Yankees in the offseason.

I don’t see how Trae Young still has doubters. The guy is 6 foot nothing and he jumped from the Big 12 to the NBA and didn’t skip a beat. Dude can ball.

Of course they can

Luka is what he is. He’s not going to develop much more. Trae has a higher ceiling and is still developing as a player. Dallas may get the edge for Luka’s mom alone.

He has already been playing pro for years.

Most players peak 6-10 years after turning pro.

That is about where Luka is now. Trae has just turned pro he will likely improve more from today than Luke.

Trae just scored 48 points and nearly got a triple double in a road game in the conference finals meanwhile Luka is sitting at home. GTFO

Yes, this is called recency bias. No one was arguing for Trae Young when Luka was dropping 40 point triple doubles in round 1 while carrying Porzingis’ 7’3” carcass

but he wasn't even an all star this year

So that's how we're measuring things now? K.

Trae got jobbed. He absolutely is an all-star.

The Hawks have just done a much better job in the front office than the Mavs have since that point.

No, I’m using that to illustrate that prior to these playoffs, no one was arguing that Trae was better thank Luka. But now people are using what he’s been doing recently (which has been sensational FTR) to argue that he’s “always” been on Luka’s tier, just overlooked. That’s not true.

1.People are ignorant.

2. They don't wanna admit that they were wrong. And he is making a lot of people, including a lot on here, look really stupid.

Also we can’t discount the difference between going through the west and going through the East, especially the run of teams Atlanta has faced during this run which all seem to be scared shitless to shoot the ball in the fourth

What he's been doing "recently" is what he's been doing for awhile now. The difference is that people are actually seeing it. That is the definition of overlooked.

The fact that anyone thinks that what Trae is doing in the playoffs is different from what he was doing in the regular season just proves that you weren't watching Hawks games.

If multiple teams keep playing like crap in the 4th, when does Atlanta get credit for that vs just saying all of the opponents are choking?

You know what Luka averaged in the playoffs?

35.7, 10.3. 7.9

This isn't to say that Trae isn't great, but throwing out 30 and 10 when comparing to Luka isn't some "win"

Dude, stop. If he played all season like he’s been playing recently, his team wouldn’t have been a 5 seed in the east. And not only would he have been an all star, but he would have been in the elite, KD/LBJ/Steph/Giannis category. He’s stepped it up another notch in the playoffs, and he deserves full credit for that. But stop acting like he’s been this uber elite, tier 1 player this whole time and we just all missed it.
