The media worked very hard to portray the two teams as being antithetical in every way. That, along with the history between Reese and Clark draws eyeballs. They were very successful.

Not really.

Outside of CC, there’s no reason to watch. At least with Iowa-LSU, there were several interesting angles.

Honestly, the committee fricked up by allowing this game to happen in the Elite 8. Would’ve been even bigger as a Final 4 or Championship game.

Iowa has saved women's basketball.

It had become who can recruit the tallest, thickest Amazonian women who can't even shoot...the game was all under the bucket.

Look at LSU vs. South Carolina, every point was just put backs from fighting for offensive rebounds...

Iowa plays a beautiful game of fast break, precision passing, backdoor cuts, shooting, etc.

Or you make it more likely to happen by putting them in the same side of the bracket.

> 12M on ESPN, not a OTA tv channel like ABC or FOX, on a Monday evening.

Is there no way to verify these numbers bc if not, I’d call BS

Nobody knew CC until the tournament last year. By that point, LSU & Reese had already gone viral several times.

Duke is the Cowboys of men's CBB.. easy to see them setting huge viewer numbers

Sorry, thought the question was why a women's bball game pulled more than the world series..

Clark is doing wonders for women’s basketball. If Page and Juju can keep the momentum going it’ll be very huge for the sport. Always nice to see a sport and league go through periods of growth

Women's college basketball has always been the third most popular college sport.

They didn't frick up, they did it on purpose. They're stupid because they wanted Iowa out. Look at the female committee. Gave them a ridiculous bracket for a #1 seed and gave South Carolina a bracket with a 4 seed as their #2 in Notre Dame.

They thought LSU or Kansas State would take them out...and positioned UConn or USC to take them out in the Final Four.

Meanwhile South Carolina plays an eleven seed.

Most watched bball game on ESPN since 2018.

According to Sports Media Watch, it is the most-viewed basketball game on ESPN since Game 7 of the 2018 Eastern Conference finals, when the Cleveland Cavaliers' victory over the Boston Celtics averaged 13.6 million
