Well they were referring to us as "Lafayette", not "UL Lafayette".
"Lafayette" is an entirely separate school.

There's a difference between academics and athletics. Also the thing McCann was probably most upset about would be just "Lafayette" which is confusing because there's a Lafayette College.

UL-L or UL-Lafayette, is a tier 2, directional school located in South West Louisiana.

Why have one branding for athletics and one for academics? Besides yall knowing that more media/tv coverage comes from athletics thus it is easier to push "Louisiana" this way.

Well you can't give yourself a name if it isn't approved by the state. So unless it was approved, your school name is UL-Lafayette, academically and athletically. You and your SID need to get over it.
