Looks like NFL made its mind giving Damar Hamlin Comeback POY before the season

I’ve been watching the market and Hamlin was -350 before the season abc his odds have fluctuated from -500 to -150 this season. I feel bad for what happened to the guy, but it seems like a pity present/PR stunt if he gets it. He had 2 tackles all year. Normally, players had to comeback from a previous bad year (injury, getting cut, old age) and actually play well on the field. Flacco should get it.

I’ve been thinking about starting this thread for a while. I’ve seen it as high as -700. Give the man an award for not dying?

Flacco deserves it, but kind of hard not to give it to Hamlin. When that first happened, it wasn’t certain he was going to love. To step foot on the field again is an accomplishment. I understand the sentiment.

This is a payoff for him keeping his mouth shut and playing along. With its sponsorships of the league and the networks, Pfizer must be kept happy.

Not bad for someone who died a year ago.

As funny as it seems, you could probably make a case for Russell Wilson as well for Comeback POY

He’d have a good case if he wasn’t a healthy scratch…

can't blame him for the organization making a business decision instead of a competitive decision

Flacco came off his couch and is playing at an absolutely elite level. 4 straight games with 300 yards and has 4-1 record. Damardiac has played less than 10 snaps. Who gives a shite about a feel good story

The irony for Damar is that had he had the heart attack anywhere else but an NFL field he probably would have died. So he is quite literally only alive because of the sport he plays. So, yeah, he shouldnt get rewarded simply for being on the field every now and then this year.

Now, Baker Mayfield? Joe Flacco? Those seem like better candidates.

Wait…I thought the person they showed in the box suite last season was a body double because he really died from the clot shot.

Another PR stunt by the NFL in trying to look like they care about players' wellbeing, while simultaneously profiting off of them permanently debilitating themselves. Also like all of the increased penalties and fines for tackling players this year. NFL officiating and the league as a whole is a joke.

I mean coming back from the dead is pretty hard to top.

Not a surprise you’re into watching the odds though.
