i imagine POR would have to find a destination for my boy Nurk, b/c he's not exactly old and is basically turning into what Wiseman may one day become

I don't see the appeal of that move for the Blazers. Either fully tank or keep Lillard. That would be another 8 seed team or high lottery. That does nothing positive.
Some teams are just happy making the playoffs and fielding a competitive team. Look at the Pacers, they haven't drafted in the top half of the lottery in over 30 years.

Dallas really doesn't have the assets to outbid other teams unless Lillard really poisoned the water to get there.

Just let me dream okay?

DAL would also have to trade for an extra basketball because only one ball won’t work for Luka and Lillard

Kuzma
THT
2nd rounder
Trade offer they thing they can get anyone with

I would hate/love to see him in GS. It’d just be Dame and Steph chilling at half court bombing everyone

Feel like this is where a team should draw a line and just tell him no he’s got like 4-5 years left on his contract, doesn’t have much leverage if the Portland front office has any balls to deal with some bad press.

But they may want to do the sam presti move and try to have 100 picks so they have a job forever

And they just hired his guy as the new coach and took the PR hit from the woke mob fan base for it

Is the entire war chest that the Pelicans possess enough for the Blazers to trade him to NO even if Lillard isn’t fully onboard?

Or is that a big no-no in the GM circles?

I don't like most trade requests, but I like this one.

Looked it up it’s 3 years with a player option
39 mil this year
42 mil
45 mil
48 mil (player option)

Hell be hitting 35 when he comes to that player option, barring a cap explosion I don’t think he’s going to do better than that 48 mil. I’d tell him we’re happy to send you off in 2025 FA if you so wish.

Those salaries make a move to a contender extremely difficult as it is anyway, I see no reason for Portland to have interest in it

Doesn’t fit our timeline at all.

Hell, SGA might not either. OKC likely gonna tank again for next 1-2 years.

if a guy with 3 years left on the super max deal on a playoff forces his way to a specific destination, the NBA is officially broken

Why would New Orleans trade assets to inherit Portland’s problem of a star not wanting to be there?

Also “war chest” is a bit much given how devalued those bucks picks are looking.

Kuzma
THT
Pick 22
Harrell

That is better than what the Rockets got for Harden.

If he does, it will be because the front office wants to keep their jobs in a rebuild for 7 plus more years instead of getting fired for losing in the first round again next year

didn't the rockets get a bunch of 1sts and swaps, to make up for all the 1sts they had already dealt?
