Why not us!!!

But seriously, if you think Dame is a top 10, and you think Zion will be a top 10 ish or 15 dude, and Ingram as your 3rd best player who averaged 24ppg the past 2 seasons, why couldn't we be a contender?

I'd say this, if that big 3 is not a title contender, then we have to seriously worry about how good Ingram AND Zion is. But I think we're a top 5-7 team in the league if we add Dame.

Those 3 could be a title contender depending on:

1) Defense

2) The the heck the rest of that roster looks like with supporting cast

But those 3 would be lethal offensively

Zion Dame and BI is a title contending team. That others think they will not be is crazy. Zion and Dame in the pnr with BI on the weak side is game over.

Pels can give up majority of 1sts and a couple of young guys and resign lonzo if they really wanted to (although I think he's gone). They'd be killers as soon as next year. Dame would be playing with a better 2nd and 3rd banana than he ever has before.

Lillard
Ball (re-signed)
Ingram
Zion
Adams

Hart (re-signed)
Marshall
Louzada
Hernangomez (re-signed)

Would have a lot of work to do to fill out that roster/bench but that would be a very interesting team.

Not happening though.

This lineup alone is 96 mil in salary next year before you even figure out the Ball contract. That’s seems a bit out to the realm of possibility for a small market team. Think they’d need to shed the adams contract (for play and for money reasons. I don’t really get his fit next to Zion)

I think shedding Adams would be ideal but hard to do.

Pelicans will pay the tax without issue if they are a contender.

but I doubt Lillard wants to be in another "small market".

I doubt he cares about market size. He wants to win. Outside of TV executives no one gives a shite about “market size”.

Feel like that’s a lot easier to say than actually do or stick with it. Even the warriors got tired of paying it during their run

It’s insane. I understand hating where you work but please don’t throw away that type of money just for a chance at a ring.

He’s not that money is guaranteed coming his way unless he opted out that last year. Which he won’t do unless he knows he will be able to get an even bigger contract on the open market

You in particular should be avoiding the topic of common sense like it's the damn plague.

people taking something an athlete said years ago and trying to apply it to today shows an utter lack of common sense. Situations change all the time in the nba. And in life as well. Again, common sense.
