Source: Blazers star Damian Lillard to request trade in the days to come.

If this is a surprise, you haven't been paying attention.

I wonder what teams can even make a DL move and if he has a list. Not too many teams are that close to a title who haven't blown their load already.

So according to Henry Abbott, he hasn't requested a trade. But he's going to. K.

Lakers and Knicks are his rumored top choices.

The teams with the most assets:

OKC
Pelicans
Rockets?

None of them are close to a title. The Pelicans are probably the best of those 3 for Lillard because they have Zion and BI, but I doubt Lillard wants to be in another "small market".

I guess if he wants a big market, the Knicks could, in theory, put something somewhat respectable together, although nowhere near "superstar" package.

i just can't see the Blazers taking Simmons for Lillard. that would be an interesting team in Portland

also, Lillard has always been on the West Coast, so going to Philly may not be his preference

PHI is one team who could make a deal b/c they're close and have assets. PHI or DEN are the 2 who I think are in the best position

Not happening. They have nothing to offer.

Knicks could happen though.

I don't see the appeal of that move for the Blazers. Either fully tank or keep Lillard. That would be another 8 seed team or high lottery. That does nothing positive.

if he wants to go to the Knicks he must have already talked to other players and gotten commitments that they will go too.

Not sure how I could forget about GSW.

I'm sure Portland would rather send him East but GSW could send a pretty good package.

Two lottery picks this year, all future picks, Wiseman, Wiggins for salary purposes.

discussed them on Pels talk when that came up. i don't see what GSW could offer if POR wanted to blow it up. the hard cap becomes a real issue for GSW if they're not dealing Klay. could do Weisman/Wiggins but why would POR want that?

I could see it. Simmons and a few firsts is probably the best value they could get, if they still want to stay relevant.

Wiseman, Wiggins, No. 7 pick and No. 14 pick this year

agreed. that's why I'm not sure if GS can offer a good deal for a tear down

Wiseman (i realized i spelled it wrong last post) isn't a needle-mover, imho

Dallas really doesn't have the assets to outbid other teams unless Lillard really poisoned the water to get there.

If backed into a corner, I could see Portland talking themselves into Wiseman being a difference maker.

Plus two lottery picks and probably 3-4 other picks and pick swaps.
